Grade 10n Healthy Lesson Plan Lesson Objective: Determine what makes a healthy lifestyle. Targeted Vocabulary: health terms, habit, procrastinate, avoid, routine Targeted Skills: Speaking: Students share ideas about healthy lifestyles Listening: Listen to advice on how to live healthy. Grammar: How to describe a healthy lifestyle Time Activity Details 2-3’ Prologue: Tongue Twister -Teacher starts with a tongue twister to practice speaking. This week: If a dog chews shoes, whose shoes does he choose? 3-4’ Intro -Students tell teacher whether the pictures they see are healthy or unhealthy. -Teacher will explain the meaning of healthy lifestyles 5-6’ Video Activity -Teacher will show healthy lifestyle video. -Students can answer questions about the video on their worksheet. 5-6’ Vocab -Teacher explains benefits of a routine to be healthy. -Teacher shows their own routine. 8-11’ Group Activity: Discuss Habits -Teacher divides class into groups of five. -Students must discuss their daily routine and decide if it is healthy or not. -Students talk about what they can do to improve their routine and Teacher asks about conclusions. 5-6' Vocab -Teacher asks students their thoughts on unhealthy lifestyles -Teacher gives own tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle 8-12' Final Activity: Tic Tac Toe -Teacher explains rules of game: Separate class into teams. Students guess whether each slide is healthy or unhealthy. -Correctly answer, and the team can place an X or O on the board. Getting three symbols in a row wins the round. 1-2’ Outro -Teacher concludes the lesson by revising the language learned
