Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the dialogue and use modal verbs to talk about the housework. Students should help their parents to do some housework. Helping students to read the dialogue for details and to practice the modal verbs: must, have to, ought to. II. Language contents: 1. Vocabulary: cupboard (n, steamer (n), sink (n) 2. Structures: - Modals: must, have to, ought to - Reflexive pronoun III. Techniques: Eliciting, questions and answers, role play IV. Teaching aids: pictures. Cassette, … V. Procedure: Teacher’s activities 1. Warm-up : (Getting started) *Kim’s game : -Show 6 pictures (getting started) to students. -Ask students to look at 6 pictures quickly in 30 seconds and try to remember the verbs in the pictures as many as possible. 2. Presentation : -Introduce the situation : -Have Students guess: “What does Nam do to help his mom ? -Play the tape (once) and have Students answer the question above. -Play the tape (twice) -Present some new words and structures. cupboard (n ,steamer (n) ,sink (n) -teaching the structure. Procedure: Teacher’s activities 1. Warm-up : *Kim’s game : -Show 6 pictures of the kitchen (page 28) to students. -Ask students to look at the picture quickly in 30 seconds and try to remember the things in the pictures as many as possible. -Take away the picture and ask students to write down as many things as they can remember. 2. Pre-speaking : *Vocabulary : (noun): rug, dish rack ,cushion -Recall the prepositions of place such as : in, at, on, above, under, next to, . . . between . . . . - Ask students the positions of the items in the pictures. + Where is the clock? + fruit? + rice cooker? Objectives: Students should know how to cook the Special Chinese Fried Rice . By the end of the lesson ,students will be able to identify the right item by listening and further practice in modal verb - ought to. II. Language contents: 1. Vocabulary: garlic (n), green peppers (n), ham (n), pea (n) 2. Structures: III. Techniques: Eliciting, questions and answers, IV. Teaching aids: pictures, poster, cassette, … V. Procedure: Teacher’s activities 1. Warm-up : *Bingo : -Ask students to write down on their notebooks 5 things you can eat. -Prepare a list of food. then call out each word in a loud voice. *Suggested list of food : chicken, beef, cake, candy, garlic, noodles, bread, rice, ham, peas… 2. Pre-Listening : -Introduce “ Special Chinese Fried Rice “ -Have Students guess what they need to make Special Chinese Fried Rice. 3. While-Listening : -Play the tape (3 times) -Check and correct Answer: a. fried rice, b. pan ,c. garlic and green peppers, d. ham and peas 4.
