lesson plan 6 Unit 9: the body TiÕt 55: Lesson 1: Section A: Parts of the body (A 1,2 ) I- Aims and Objectives - Vocabulary: a body, part, a head, an arm, a chest, a leg, a toe, a foot, a hand, a finger, a shoulder. - Help students know the words which explain the parts of body. - By the end of the lesson, students are able to talk to others about their parts of the body. - Target skill: listening. - Other skill: reading, writing, speaking. II- Teaching aids. - Pictures, books, cuewords and posters. III- Anticipated problems. - Students may get difficulties in pronunciation. IV- Procedures. 1- Warm up: - Have students answer some questions. a) What do you do? b) What are you doing? c) Do you know about your body? - Give corrections. 2- Pre-listening. - Set the sence then preteach vocabulary. + a body : th©n thÓ, c¬ thÓ (Explaination, Picture, Realize) + a part : phÇn, ®o¹n (Explaination) + a head : ®Çu (Explaination, Realize) + an arm : c¸nh tay (Explaination, Realize) + a chest : ngùc (Explaination, Realize) + a leg : c¼ng ch©n (Explaination, Realize) + a toe : ngãn ch©n (Explaination, Realize) + a foot : bµn ch©n (Explaination, Realize) + a hand : bµn tay (Explaination, Realize) + a finger : ngãn tay (Explaination, Realize) + a shoulder : vai (Explaination, Realize) - Teacher reads new words clearly. - Have students repeat. - Check "Rub out and remember" - Introduce the situation of the exercise 1 (page 96). - Have students give out their suitable words which talk about their parts of the body. - Call some students give out their words before class. - Give the corrections. 3- While-listening. Cuewords: a body - a part - a head - an arm - a chest - a leg - a toe - a foot a hand - a finger - a shoulder - Call some pairs to practice before class with the questions following the exercise 2 (page 97). Eg: What is that? -> That is his head. What are those? -> Those are his shoulders. - Ask others to correct. - Give the corrections. 5- Homework. - Learn by heart new words. - Do exercise A 1,2 (page 83) - Prepare next lesson.
