Period 42 UNIT 7: SAVING ENERGY Lesson1: Getting Started - Listen and Read Language Focus 3 I. Teaching points: Reading a dialouge about saving energy. By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:Use the wordsand phrases relating to “saving energy” Understand the dialogue and know the ways to save E. Grammar points: connectives, phrasal verbs, suggestions. II. Teaching aids: Text book, work book, ruler, chalk, board, posters, pictures. III. Procedure: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content on the board Warm up Brainstorm Have Ss work in 2 teams - Get them to look at the picture on page 57. Ask them to give the list of Team work Follow T's guidings; playing game in 2 teams. How to save energy? things that the family could do to save energy. (remember to use modals: must / should ). - Give feed back and provided some more ways. *Example: They should save water by turning off the faucet when there is enough water supply. Pre- teach vocabulary Present new word s in the lesson. - (realia) - (picture) - (translation) - The person who fixes the pipes. - (board drill) Checking - Have Ss play game: R.O.R Set the scene Mrs Mi is talking to her neighbor, Mirs Hoa about the water bill this month.
