Lesson 2: A 3, 4, 5 What are you doing?
I Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know some names of sports and past time

III Teaching aids: Textbook, cassette, tape, pictures.
IV Procedure:
1) Warm – up
- T asks Ss to play game Hangman with 6 letters
S O C C E R
- This is an interesting sport, do you like it? Today we will learn
to know how to ask and answer about the sport
2) Presentation
- T shows the pictures and introduces the lesson: Today, we learn
about a structure to ask about the sports
- T plays the tape twices
- Ss listen and repeat each sentences in pairs
Model sentences
- Ss look at A3 and talk about the questions to ask about sports
- T writes the example sentences on the board:
Which sports do you play?
- I play soccer
Which sports does she play?
- She skips
- T elicits the form:
Which sports + do/does + S + play?
- S + Vs/es
Read and answer the question
Trang 2- T sets the scence: The text is about Lan and Nam They like
sports Let’s read and find out which sports they play
- T asks Ss to read A4 and work in pairs to aks and answer about
the sports with “Which sports + does + she/he + play?
- She/He + Vs/es”
- T gets feedback
3) Practice: Word – cue – drill
- T asks Ss to complete the sentences with word cues
a) You/ play soccer
b) Nam and Nga/ jog
c) Mai/ skip
d) Ba/ swim
e) You and your father/ play tennis
- Ss work in pairs
- T invites 10 Ss to play role to practice the above sentences
- T gets feedback
4) Production: Survey
- T models with 1 student:
+ Which sports do you play, Hoa?
- I skip, jog, do aerobics …
- T asks Ss to ask their partners’s favourite sports.
- Ss work in group of 8 and write their answers in the survey.
Name Sports
- T invites some Ss to talk their answers.
- T gets feedback.
