in developing a sustainable environment of the Emart Vietnam retailchain This helps to save costs on printing and issuing invoices,customers do not worry about losing invoices, most importantly, thisproject helps to reduce unnecessary paper waste, leading in savingprojects save resources and protect the environment, and at thesame time contribute to the conversion from paper documents toelectronic in accordance with today's industrial revolution inVietnam We hope that in the coming years, Emart Vietnam in

2.4 THEATS
Emart entered the Vietnamese market late, so the competition for

pollution problem is increasing exponentially Every day, thousands
and tons of waste and emissions are discharged into the
environment In urban areas, only about 60% - 70% of solid waste is
collected It is estimated that domestic solid waste generated in
urban areas nationwide increases by an average of 10-16% per year
and more than 90% of climate change is caused by human
activities In 2020, the National Assembly promulgated the Law on
Environmental Protection and in 2022 the Law on Environmental
Protection will be implemented with many new breakthroughs,
promoting the role of people and businesses as the central position
focus on environmental protection activities The Law on
Environmental Protection in 2020 has identified the business
community as a factor that plays a very important role in the cause
of environmental protection The good implementation of
environmental protection is not only the responsibility of enterprises,
but also helps businesses improve competitiveness, penetrate
international markets and ensure sustainable development
Promoting the role of businesses in environmental protection is the
key solution to solve current environmental pressures Businesses in

obligations and responsibilities of agencies, organizations,
residential communities, households and individuals in

Article 2 Subjects of application
This Law applies to agencies, organizations, residential communities,
households and individuals in the territory of the Socialist Republic
of Vietnam, including the mainland, islands, sea areas, underground

MANAGEMENT OF DAILY SOLID WASTE
Article 15 Classification and storage of daily-life solid waste
Trang 19The classification of daily-life solid wastes must be managed,supervised, propagated and mobilized by organizations, individualsand households to comply with regulations, ensuring favorablerequirements for collection and transportation and processing.Article 16 Responsibilities of organizations and individualsgenerating daily-life solid waste
Domestic solid waste generators (except households andindividuals) transfer domestic solid waste to the following entities:a) Reusing, recycling, co-processing and disposal facilities withappropriate functions;
b) The owner collects and transports daily-life solid waste satisfyingthe provisions of Article 18 of this Decree; organize the performance
of public service tasks of collecting and transporting daily-life solidwaste assigned by competent state agencies
NORMAL INDUSTRIAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENTArticle 30 Responsibilities of ordinary industrial solid wastegenerators
Ordinary industrial solid waste generators transfer ordinaryindustrial solid wastes to the following entities:
a) Owners of production facilities that use directly as raw materialsfor production, production of building materials or ground levelingare permitted to operate in accordance with law;
b) The owner of the production facility has been approved by thecompetent authority for the waste co-treatment plan;
c) Ordinary industrial solid waste treaters have appropriatefunctions;
Trang 20d) The normal industrial solid waste carrier meets the requirements
of Article 31 of this Decree and has a transfer contract between theordinary industrial solid waste carrier and the entities specified atPoint a , b or point c of this clause
Organizations and individuals that reuse, preliminarily process,recycle, treat, co-treat and recover energy from ordinary industrialsolid waste must satisfy technical requirements and managementprocesses by themselves according to the following requirements:a) Comply with the enterprise registration certificate, businessregistration certificate or investment certificate, investmentregistration document and other equivalent documents asprescribed by law;
b) Made with technology, environmental protection works,production equipment available in the premises of the establishmentthat generates ordinary industrial solid waste and must meet therequirements for environmental protection as prescribed For wasteincinerators, conventional industrial solid waste landfills invested inthe premises for self-treatment of ordinary industrial solid wastesmust be consistent with the solid waste management content in themaster plans relate to;
c) It must be consistent with the decision approving theenvironmental impact assessment report, the certifiedenvironmental protection plan or equivalent documents and records.Article 31 Collection and transportation of ordinaryindustrial solid waste
Organizations and individuals that collect and transport ordinaryindustrial solid waste are responsible for transferring wastes toordinary industrial solid waste treatment facilities that are permitted
to operate in accordance with law

Article 37 Wastewater collection and treatment
Urban areas, concentrated residential areas, high-rise buildings,service and commercial complexes must have rainwater collectionsystems and wastewater collection and treatment according toplannings and comply with regulations technical standards onconstruction of technical infrastructure works
It can be said that Vietnam is currently on the list of heavily pollutedcountries in the world Faced with this situation, the Vietnamesegovernment has issued laws and decrees with the goal of improvingthe quality of the environment and people's lives Businesses such
as the Emart supermarket chain have also created environmentalprotection activities as well as invested in the latest technologies toreduce the release of waste into the environment The responsibility
to protect the environment is not only the responsibility of thegovernment but also the responsibility of the whole community.Comment: Based on the provisions of the Law on EnvironmentalProtection Law of Vietnam for businesses, Emart Vietnam needs tomake choices and orientations about new environmental activities
as well as going through a long time after the pandemic During theCovid-19 epidemic, the consumption of customers is graduallystabilizing along with the rapid urbanization rate, people have higherand higher incomes and the more popular shopping habits havecreated an attraction for consumers retail market People'sconsumption behavior is gradually changing in line with moderntrends, from daily shopping in traditional markets to large-volumeshopping in modern retail channels such as supermarkets,commercial centers or retail stores Convenience stores to serveconsumers and this is also the driving force behind the faster shift
Trang 22from traditional retail channels to modern retail channels Emartneeds to develop a sustainable development innovation strategybased on environmental protection principles and environmentallaws promulgated by the Vietnamese government.
Emart needs to commit to creative investment and incorporate ESGcriteria in its business activities This is reflected in the developmentand innovation of business strategies in addition to meeting theneeds of stakeholders such as customers , workers at the sametime protect, maintain and enhance the human and naturalresources that will be needed in the future In addition to the abovecriteria for sustainable development for Emart, the system needs topromote ESG management throughout the company With thecriterion of joint development Emart can set common tasks for boththe company and the community in the company participation inenvironmental protection, response to climate change and carbonneutrality Future goals Emart always wants to aim for a green earthwith the participation of everyone
