Emart SungSoo Branch: The first green store in Korea, SungSoo Store was recognized by the Ministry of Environment as the first green store in Korea in November 2011. Along with remarkable achievements, Emart continues to open. expand green stores in the
coming years.
Emart Uijeongbu Branch: Eco-Emart Standards In July 2013, Emart opened a Uijeongbu Branch with 35 different eco-friendly items
applied during construction. Stores are built with state-of-the-art features designed to save energy while equipped with optimal energy technologies that are environmentally friendly and thanks to such features and technologies, they will have can save more than 20% energy consumption
Emart Traders: The first solar-powered store. The first time in the industry, they installed a solar-powered generating facility at Emart Traders in Gusung, YongIn City, Gyounggi-Do. The facility is famous for its design aspect that bears the image of a large flowerbed, while generating more than 570mwh of electricity annually through a maximum capacity of 460kw.

Emart's JeCheon Branch: First Geothermal Facility Opened in December 2009, Their JeCheon Branch adopted the industry's first geothermal system. By using a consistent temperature below ground (15℃), thermal energy is being used for heating and cooling purposes across the entire store location. Thanks to the stable energy source, the energy efficiency is always at the optimal level.
ESCO plan: Since 2009, Emart has voluntarily adjusted its ESCO plan and they have actively invested in reducing energy consumption and green emissions by replacing old equipment with high-efficiency

Electric Vehicle Charging Station
Starting with the SungSu Branch, together with the City of Seoul and the Ministry of the Environment, Emart has installed charging stations for electric vehicles in an effort to build infrastructure for

They also sell clothing to charities and hold a special “Cool-Style/On- Style” sale at all of our Emart locations nationwide.
Mobile invoice campaign: In 2017, Emart first applied a mobile invoicing system to replace paper invoices with digital invoices in the retail industry in Korea. If a customer chooses to receive a mobile receipt on the Emart App, they can receive an electronic
receipt instead of a paper receipt after the in-store checkout process. Choosing mobile receipts is a great way for customers to help the environment while earning Carbon Neutral Activity Points and easily reviewing receipts without collecting paper invoices. As of May 2022, printing of paper receipts has decreased by more than 200 million receipts. Emart consistently offers a variety of benefits to customers who decide to get mobile receipts, including an event where customers can win a free air purifier.
No more paper advertising: For the first time in the industry, Emart stopped printing advertising on paper in October 2009. This decision was made to contribute to reducing the amount of carbon monoxide emitted during the production of paper, at the same time participate

Eco-Friendly Donation Culture Center and Green Education: During the week of Environment Day in June 2013, Emart in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment opened eco-friendly donation programs and green education at the cultural center and they commit that all proceeds from the program (tuition fees) are donated to the ministry to contribute to the efforts to promote and encourage the consumption of green and friendly products with the environment. The students participating in the program enjoyed the
