| INTRODUCTION
As far as we know, playing sport can have many positive and negative effects on individuals, impacting many different aspects of physical, mental and social health Nowadays, some sports have become widely popular globally However, a sport's popularity can vary significantly depending on geographic location, regional and cultural preferences Each sport will have aé different playing rule and regulations Different sports also require a diverse set of skills, and the specific skills needed depend on the nature of the sport Developing a combination of the skills contributes to an athlete's overall competence and success in their chosen sport The most important aspect is to have fun and enjoy the experience As you become more comfortable with the sport, you can progressively challenge yourself and set new goals
In my own words, in its simplest understanding, Sports represent a physical or intellectual competition in form of single, player vs player
or team vs team contests, taking place in casual or organized events, aimed to decide who is going to utilize their skills in the best way possible in order to achieve the ultimate goal — which is to win

lll Disadvantages of playing sports
1 Might cause serious injury
The possibility of injury is probably one of the most evident disadvantage of participating in sports Injuries might cause more long-term issues than just minor inconveniences Throughout a game, numerous injuries could occur Falls can also harm you, and
so can collisions during contact sports
Numerous sporting activities involve repetitive motion, which can harm joints and muscles Athletes can get hurt if they don't properly warm up and prepare for a particular sport In reality, many sports professionals experience severe injuries throughout their careers, and several of them even end up having to retire from their sport as
a result of such injuries As you get older, your recovery time becomes longer too, so even if you are not injured, you can find yourself nursing aches and pains after playing that go on for several days at a time It is the reason you have trouble going to sleep afterwards because your body and mind are still buzzing | don't deny that playing sports might be good overall for sleep patterns and relaxing, but it can certainly cause problems too Some sports
10
Trang 11are, in fact, considered dangerous Therefore, if you wish to pursue your sport as a career, be assured that you are prepared to endure considerable hardship
2 Sports can be very exhausting
Sports, in fact, can be very exhausting, which is one of its drawbacks Many people prefer to avoid excessive exercise, and if they have to run frequently for their sport, they are likely to quickly lose interest If you are an individual who doesn't prefer vigorous exercise, make sure to pick your sport carefully because some are far more physically demanding than others
3 Sports can be expensive
Sports gear can be very expensive, which is another drawback of participating in sports You might have to spend hundreds or even thousands of rupees on your equipment, particularly in sports, wherein you require a lot of protection For example, playing cricket requires complete gear as protection, which includes helmets, pads, gloves, etc
However, several sports are also considered cheap For example, all you really need to play football is a ball, and then you can start Therefore, one must be sure in selecting the sport following your budget to avoid any unexpected consequences down the road
4 Sports can be time-consuming
You will also need to put in a lot of time if you really want to be very exceptional at your favorite sport However, success in athletics
is also a result of hard work, and this is true sooner or later Therefore, be sure that you wish to devote enough time to your sport
5 Excessive sports can cause an issue
11
Trang 12IV
Spending a lot of time on your sport can potentially cause severe issues with your studies or professional life If you are pursuing studies, then spending a lot of time playing games can promote low concentration on studies
There's a good probability that you'll need to put in a lot of overtime if you have a difficult job and you want to improve in it As
a result, you might not achieve the work-life balance needed Therefore, it is likely that you will eventually have to choose between pursuing a career in business or professional athletics
6 Unhappy parents and coaches
One of the saddest drawbacks of playing sports is having to deal
instructors Athletes find it challenging to deal with coaches who criticize them when they perform poorly because they put them under pressure Unreasonable expectations from parents toward their own children or other youngsters can also lead to unnecessary frustration Some parents never accept or support their children to choose sports as their profession
As a parent or coach, it's important to manage your expectations for the young athlete As an adult athlete, it's essential to manage your responses to instructors or audiences who behave improperly
Solutions
1 Pay attention to your body, avoid heat shock
Heat stroke is a condition that can easily occur if you exercise in hot weather for a long time, and heat loss becomes difficult At that time, your body temperature may increase to 40°C or higher High body temperature over a long period of time will damage the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, liver, kidneys, especially the nervous system, and can cause stroke
