1.4.3 Business performance of THD Company

Over the years of doing business in the field of international and domestic freight forwarding and transportation services, THD Company has been leading to building trust from customers Some of the company's familiar customers can be mentioned as: Lam Nha Co., Ltd., Binh Gia Co., Ltd., Baosteel Can Making Vietnam Co., Ltd., UNIMAY Co., Ltd., etc

A more specific manifestation is that the company’s revenue is increasing rapidly before the Covid 19 pandemic However, this unexpected pandemic has caused considerable damage to the business profit of world trade in 2020 in general and of THD company in particular The following is a table of the company's business results for the period of 2018 - 2020:

In terms of revenue: In 2019 revenue increased by 9.28% compared to 2018 or 208,676,000 VND, due to the steady increase in import and export volume However, in 2020, due to pressure from the Covid-19 pandemic, the company's revenue decreased by about VND 801,328,000 compared to 2019 or equivalent to 66.31%

About costs: In 2019 costs decreased by 6.04% compared to 2018 or VND 81,631,000, proving that in 2019 the company had stricter cost management measures This cost continued to decrease in 2020 when the company went into stable operation, but due to the pandemic, the company did not have many customers to pay for the cost of making goods, so the cost decreased sharply by about 359,859,000 VND compared to that of the pandemic with 2019 Profit: Profit in 2019 increased by 32.37% compared to 2018 or 290,317,000 VND, a significant figure due to reasonable cost management along with steady increase in revenue However, in 2020, profits plummeted because THD's customers were affected by the epidemic, down 37.27% compared to 2019

The company has had a very good start and achieved a remarkably stable and steadily growing profit in 2018 (VND 896,790,000) and 2019 (VND 1,187,107,000) which clearly shows that the company is growing works very efficiently

By 2020, revenue will drop significantly, but because of low costs, still have profits Therefore, the business situation during the pandemic is a big difficulty that the company needs to face and overcome in the future.

Actual situation: In October 2020, UNIMAY (Vietnam) Co., Ltd imported a shipment of nonwoven fabric from ANSHIN Company (Japan) UNIMAY Company contacted THD Company to sign a contract of entrustment service to carry out import procedures for its shipment.

(1) UNIMAY Vietnam Company signed a contract to import non-woven fabrics with ANSHIN Company of Japan

(2) Japan ANSHIN company prepares the goods, then contacts COSCO shipping line in Japan to book and deliver the goods to the shipping line

(3) COSCO shipping line receives the goods and issues the original bill of lading to Japan ASHIN Company

(4) ASHIN Japan Company sends all set of documents to UNIMAY Vietnam Company

(5) UNIMAY Vietnam Company signed a contract of freight forwarding service with THD Company and delivered the necessary documents to THD Company to receive the goods

(6) COSCO Vietnam shipping lines notify A/N to Notify Party UNIMAY Vietnam Company

(7) THD Company receives A/N from UNIMAY Vietnam Company

2.1.2.2 The process of organizing the delivery of imported goods for UNIMAY by sea at THD Company

3.2.1 Recommendation 1: Conducting electronic customs declaration

The process of inspection and customs clearance of declarations in some branches, when implemented, overlaps, causing a lot of time According to the enterprise, Customs needs to have consistency between departments For example, an enterprise has signed and approved the approval of the Customs tax management team when applying the HS code, but the Customs professional team, when opening the declaration, requires the HS code to be changed and declared in more detail It takes a long time for businesses to complete the procedure It is necessary to have an agreement between the tax management team, the professional team and the inspection team on the registration of product codes, goods names and HS codes to avoid affecting the liquidity process later Therefore, the HS code should be regularly updated and clearly specified in the annual tax table
