Trang 4INTRODUCTION
In the current national renewal process, the trend of international integration
is being paid great attention by Vietnam Most developed countries are associated with a stabilized economy Therefore, meeting society's demand for quality of human resources, International Business has become a "hot" major, receiving a lot
of attention and a potential field By realizing the suitability and career prospects, I decided to target this major Here are some of my own reasons to answer the question: “Why did I choose International Business?”
Above all, this is a profession that is considered as one of the industries with high job opportunities for students, but at the moment, it still has a shortage of high- quality manpower According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, the total registered foreign investment capital into Vietnam as of September 20, 2021, reached 22.15 billion USD, up 4.4% over the same period last year’ As an industry educating global bachelors, with the current situation, becoming the intent of many people is inevitable In addition, based on the Labor Market Report in the third quarter of 2021 — Forecast of human resource demand in the fourth quarter of 2021
in Ho Chi Minh City (October 18, 2021), it can be seen that the market is really in need of human resources in the Trade (22.73%) and Transport - Warehouse - Port Services (2.13 %) sectors, occupying two high positions in prominent industries

Trang 5Those things prove the fact that International Business has a strong attraction not only for domestic companies but also foreign enterprises In my viewpoint, this would be a stepping stone for my own future
Besides the above reason, I myself want to work and develop in an international environment, specifically a foreign company Surely everyone is familiar with multinational companies such as Unilever, P&G, Microsoft, Honda, Uber, Nestlé, or Samsung, These companies often have training programs for employees both in the country and abroad In particular, the working environment helps employees hone their foreign languages as well as communication skills This 1s definitely something that everyone wishes for So I have the ability to have a professional working style and higher opportunities for advancement in my career journey One of the other things that excites me so much is enhancing my self-worth through learning from many different cultures and people from all around the world This must be what most people wish for
In another aspect, in the international environment, it is extremely important
to study customer psychology and thereby bring goods to the market in the most optimal way From the results obtained through the research process, | will conclude for myself, or companies, the right, and effective strategies According to Clause 2, Article 4 of the 2005 Enterprise Law, “Business is the continuous performance of one, several or all stages of the investment process, from production to consumption
of products or provision of services on the market for the purpose of making a profit." Capturing customers’ thoughts is a prerequisite for making a profitable business And it's also a useful tool to complement my career ahead
Most especially, International Business is the direction that brings me closer
to my dream Although it seems like a huge idea, ] want to own a chain of Luxury fashion stores, which is well received nationally and internationally This requires working skills, foreign languages, and a deep understanding of business issues and also import and export Because in the future, if 1 become an entrepreneur with a foothold in the economic field, I will most likely export my branded goods abroad I have such an ambition not only for myself but also for my family I want them to have a comfortable life and travel anywhere that they wish Why don't young people dream big? “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Henry Ford
All of the above is the reason that I chose International Business as a companion for 4 years at Ton Duc Thang University I believe that it is the wings that help me fly further in the upcoming journey, turning my dreams into reality
Trang 6CHAPTER 1: SELF ASSESSMENT
Elizabeth Gilbert? is an American novelist who once said, "True power comes from standing in your own truth and walking your own path."
The most important thing to succeed is not how much capital you have, who you have a relationship with, but "How well you know yourself." But why is self- assessment so necessary? The answer is because it helps us understand what we have, what we lack, what's missing, what's the opportunity to take it And thanks to that, we can learn, refine and develop our self-worth in the best way Realizing the value of this, I decided to look at my own abilities, not through the gaze of others, but by the following SWOT method
1.1 Strengths:
Most successful people in their jobs know what their strengths are For me personally, first of all, it is initiative, and it has given me many precious opportunities The proof of that is that | have volunteered to run for the team leader
of the National Defense Education subject recently Even I did not know many new friends but thank the motivation, I tried a lot I have also actively contacted and surveyed the difficulties of others to help As a result, my group is often highly appreciated by the teacher and the score is always above 8.5 "The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something Don’t wait for good things to happen to you." - Barack Obama In order to constantly improve myself, I have continued to run for office and currently serve as Deputy Secretary of my class Besides, I am also a “shooter” of STDT Communications - a club at Ton Duc Thang University Thanks to this initiative, ] have acquired countless new skills such as teamwork, content building, communication, management, to help me improve myself day by day
Since then, I've gained my second strength, social relationships In the process
of studying and working, I have interacted with many seniors as well as teachers, creating good relationships They helped me a lot For example, my homeroom teacher gave us the opportunity to meet and listen to useful sharing from speakers, from which we learned many things Also, mentors helped us in the midterm presentation as well as conveyed a lot of valuable life experiences that can not be found in books, This has helped me to have a great environment to gradually
3 An American writer, author, novelist, literary critic
Trang 7become a "global citizen" capable of helping families and society, it's also a great stepping stone for me to be the best version of myself in the future
Not only do I have a good relationship with my seniors and teachers, but I also have a very close relationship with my friends They often evaluate me as a kind, friendly person and always willing to help when others are in trouble That is also one of the factors that make up my other strength: Teamwork skills “We cannot live only for ourselves A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back
to us as effects.” - Herman Melville.* We will find it very difficult to develop if we just live by ourselves only and do not know how to collaborate with others These are often heavy workloads, and teamwork is also an essential element in our lives and work As in a subject, typically Career Orientation, teachers often assign groups
of unexpected exercises and we must complete them in just 5 minutes This is when
we really need this skill Thanks to good cooperation, my team and I finished quite well and received a score of 9.5 In addition, I supported as well as working with everyone in the midterm presentation, the result was achieved 8.25 points Moreover, when applying for admission to STDT, our topic is teamwork to create a media product on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day And it received 1000 luot reacts, almost 400 comments, and 495 shares.’ In my opinion, teamwork is very important and I will not stop cultivating it
1.2 Weaknesses:
As humans, no one is perfect, and neither am I Besides the things that I can be proud of, there are always weaknesses that I would like to overcome The first is technology This can be seen as an effective tool for life in general and business in particular According to research by American Express, information technology currently accounts for 19% of business expenses And a report by Deloitte has shown that businesses that use technology in business activities have high revenue growth four times more than non-app organizations.° However, I am still struggling when editing a report or making a media poster, And because I understand the importance of technology, I have been trying not to be "lagged" in the current 4.0
era

Trang 8Besides, I am not really confident about my ability to use English, one of the things that worries me the most According to the latest announcement of Ethnologue, English is currently the most popular language in the world with 1,348,000,000 speakers It is not only an effective support person but also a measure
of human evaluation Those who have English certificates or can use them fluently and accurately often have a better salary and are appreciated in the eyes of everyone, especially employers I think that my grammar is not good and I am still quite shy when speaking in English A fond memory is when I was about to finish
my 3-month course at a small center in Ho Chi Minh City, I had a speaking test It was simply sitting and talking with the teacher, but I was so nervous that I was shaking and stuttering, the words in my head suddenly disappeared and I didn't dare
to speak However, I tried to study every day and set a goal for myself to achieve 7.0 IELTS or above before graduation as a source of motivation
In addition, I see myself as a rather sensitive person and lacking confidence
in public I often pay attention to the words or even a small act of others, sometimes
I even spend the whole night thinking about a look or a curt text My sensitivity leads to my low self-esteem when speaking or sharing in front of many people Every time I report to the teacher or answer a question, I am still very shaken, sometimes my ears are red
1 know that I still need to hone a lot, overcome and learn more things to have a chance to make my own dreams come true Weaknesses should not be considered weaknesses, instead, learn to see them and then find out what you are lacking and strive to improve yourself day by day "The direction against the wind, the more suitable to fly, I am not afraid of thousands of people to stop me, just afraid of surrendering myself."
1.3 Opportunities:
Facing life is often facing opportunities, the important thing is whether we can seize it or not For me, youth is also a golden opportunity This is the time when we can exploit countless new ideas, have full vitality and enthusiasm Besides, as young people, born and raised in the digital age, it is easier to approach and keep pace with new technologies and trends
In addition to the personal factor, we also have opportunities that come from my family For example, I was facilitated by my parents to study at Ton Duc Thang University The untversity was honored to be ranked 142nd in Asia - the highest
Trang 9position of Vietnamese schools in the QS (Asia University Rankings) 2022.’ Although we are not rich, my parents have always encouraged and given me valuable development opportunities And that is also one of the reasons that I always want to become a successful businessman so that in the future I can repay the gratitude of my parents Another opportunity that comes from my family is that | have relatives who work in the business, especially in apparel - close to the goal that I] want to aim for From there I can easily learn more for myself from experience and valuable advice in the future Most of my relatives are surrounded by people who have a foothold in the business field, and I can also improve myself thanks to their experiences It would be a great opportunity if 1 was really qualified
Moreover, one of the other opportunities is to be educated by Ton Duc Thang University TDTU is a school that is growing day by day and is highly appreciated
in international rankings Here, I will learn, develop as well as practice in modern facilities, with the guidance of enthusiastic and experienced teachers In my view, education is the core of development Education factors directly determine the development and success of people More specifically, Vietnam is increasingly integrating into the world economy Our country has participated in agreements such as Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Comprehensive and Progresstve Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Agreement with the European Union Vietnam - EU (EVFTA), International economic integration creates new options to promote the country's own economy, cross-continental exchanges, develop productive forces, and attract investment capital from major countries And from there, we will have more job opportunities in the future In addition, the opportunity
to start a business and call for investment capital is expanding, typically with programs like Shark Tank Here we can convince the Sharks to contribute capital or invest in us through interpreting and providing evidence that is impressive enough for them to put their trust and expectations, especially money in the project you bring
Also because there are so many great opportunities waiting for me, I will not stop trying and firmly believe in myself
1.4, Threats:
Anything has two sides to it, so surviving in tandem with opportunity is not a simple challenge The first, perhaps, is the expectation I feel like my family has placed a huge expectation on me and that sometimes becomes a challenge There
7 https://bom.so/TdDL2E
Trang 10were times when | felt very pressured, especially whenever | went to a test or semester exam, sometimes I was so upset then burst into tears I was afraid to disappoint others, therefore, it left me in a passive position However, | am gradually facing it as a motivation, a strong push for me to try up every day
If you live in a small village without thinking further, your vision is forever only
in that village Entering the university environment, I had access to excellent teachers, predecessors and friends Thereby, I got a new problem that was more difficult than the interpersonal competition While my English level was still at a temporary level, my classmate had a 7.5 IELTS While | was still struggling with a math problem, they already raised their hands to answer, Not only in class but also outside, formidable opponents are everywhere It will be a fierce battle for scholarships, internship opportunities, or beyond future employment But I will absolutely not falter because of those things, instead, I will increase my determination and effort to keep up with and finally overcome all
In another respect, international integration in the digital age is like a double- edged sword.® First, with the rapid growth of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the risk of falling behind in developing countries is also much greater than it used to be Specifically, those countries (including Vietnam) will be slower to Introduce policies on digital integration and transformation, and also, attracting human resources will be more difficult than developed countries Next, international integration in the digital era increases the challenges of ensuring national security, protecting and maintaining territorial sovereignty Cybersecurity issues for countries are increasingly concerned, with losses in 2021 from cyberattacks amounting to more than 4% of global GDP’ Defense and security challenges are increasing due to the development of new generation weapons and equipment integrated with digital technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI) Moreover, we face the effects of strategic competition between major countries in building and shaping the global
"rules of the game" For example, competition in the financial sector, digital currencies are likely to increase because China, Japan, the European Union (EU) are preparing to issue digital currencies, treating this as the sovereign national
currency

Trang 11In short, through the SWOT analysis method, I have somewhat learned about myself better and from here you can draw up a specific plan for appropriate development Affirming self-worth is not easy, it requires a lot of patience as well as effort and will not be full of roses Realizing that, I will constantly strive to be successful and have the correct answer to the question: "Who am I?"
Trang 12CHAPTER 2: DETERMINATION OF CAREER GOALS
Goals are the intentions that you look forward to achieving in the future, you plan to do it, and commit to accomplishing it within a certain period of time Some people feel that setting a goal puts them in a confined framework, causing them to suddenly become pressured by what they set, however, I do not think that is right | believe that once you set a goal and strive to achieve it, you will:
Know your expectations for yourself in the future
Map out the roadmap for completion, thus, shortening the maximum time to strive, not wasting your youth
Do not be distracted by so much going on around you every day
Maintaining faith and enthusiasm in all aspects of life
Those goals not only affect your behavior, your work performance but also stimulate your brain and psychological state, mobilizing the optimal energy that motivates your effort
To achieve the highest job performance, I chose the SMART principle to set my own goals SMART stands for five properties that a goal must have: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound This seems to be one of the most popular and effective tools for setting realistic and achievable goals Here are

15
Trang 19asking, questions: What kind of job do I want to do in the future? Who I want to be? From there, I can choose a job that suits my abilities and interests of the mine It's essential to learn and research the work right now if I don't want to waste too much time searching for the answers to those questions to identify myself And here are some positions that I would like to apply for in the future: 3.1 Supply chain management staff:
