I Learn about the space-time barrier when meeting your partner:

1 Learn and analyze the geographical differences that affect the preparation for the

meeting between the two sides: 1.1 Geogrephy:

India geography:

India lies north of the equator between 8°4' north (continental) and 37°6' north latitude and 68°7' east longitude to 97°25' east longitude It is the seventh largest country in the world, with a total area of 3,287,263 square kilometers It has a land border of 15,200 km and a coastline of 7,516.6 km

To the south, India juts out and is bounded by the Indian Ocean The territorial sea of India extends to the sea to a distance of 12 nautical miles (13.8 mi; 22.2 km) from the coastal baselines India's northern border is defined primarily by the Himalayas, where the country borders China, Bhutan and Nepal Its western borders with Pakistan lie in the Karakoram and Western Himalayas, the Punjab Plain, the Thar Desert and the Rann of Kutch salt marsh In the far northeast, Chin Hills and Kachin Hills, deep forested mountain regions, separate India from Burma To the east, its border with Bangladesh is largely defined by the Khasi Hills and Mizo Hills, and the watershed of the Indo-Gangetic Plains

In general, geographically, India can be divided into two regions separated by the Vindhya Range: the North is the basin of the Indus and Ganges rivers, a low and fertile plain surrounded by the Aryavarta and The Thar desert is divided into two parts, East and West The eastern plain is the basin of the Ganges River, every year in the snow melt season (June), the river water rises, leaving a layer of fertile alluvium on the fields The western plain is the basin of the Indus river formed by five great tributaries, so this region is also called Punjab (meaning five tributaries) Southern India is a vast Deccan plateau, rich in forests and minerals, located between the Eastern Ghats and Western Ghats mountain ranges running along the East and West coasts Many rivers flow through the Deccan Plateau into the sea, but the water levels in those rivers are unstable, the water flow is too strong

The Ganges-Brahmaputra river system occupies most of northern, central and eastern India, while the Deccan plateau occupies most of southern India

Viet Nam geography:

Vietnam's geography is the geographical features of Vietnam, a country located on the eastern edge of the Indochinese peninsula, the center of Southeast Asia The area of Vietnam is 331,212 km² Vietnam's land border is 4,639 km long, bordered by the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest, the Gulf of Tonkin and the East Sea to the east, China to the north, and Laos and Cambodia to the west The shape of Vietnam on the map is S-shaped, the distance from north to south (according to the crow flies) is 1,650 km and the narrowest position east to west is located in Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) with less than 50 kilometer The coastline is 3,260 km long, excluding the islands In addition to the internal waters, Vietnam claims 12 nautical miles of territorial sea, another 12 nautical miles of contiguous zone, 200 nautical miles of exclusive economic zone and finally continental shelf The waters under Vietnam's sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction occupy an area of about 1,000,000 square kilometers in the East Sea

Trang 6

Vietnam is a tropical country with mostly mountainous terrain (accounting for three-quarters of the territory), mostly low hills, and plains only accounting for one-quarter of the area On a national scale, lowland plains and hills (under 1,000 m) account for 85% of the area High mountainous terrain (over 2,000 m) accounts for only 1% of the country's area The topographical structure is quite diverse thanks to the rejuvenation of Neo-tectonic movement, creating a clear gradation according to altitude, descending from the northwest to the southeast Land that can be used for agriculture accounts for less than 20% The country is divided into mountainous areas, the Red River Delta in the north; the Truong Son range, the Central Highlands, the central coastal plain, and the Mekong Delta in the south

Picture 1:India geography

In general, India is a large peninsula located in Southern Asia and Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia, so the geographical distance between Vietnam and India is not too far However, India has a much larger area than Vietnam, so India's geography is somewhat more diverse and complex It is a vast subcontinent, with both high icy mountains and murky forests, as well as sunny oceans, large rivers with rich plains and hot, dry highlands and deserts This makes it difficult to generalize the geographical conditions of this country For a more detailed spatial analysis, we can do a deeper analysis with the geographical location of the city where the working partner is located, Hyderabad and Da Nang

Hyderabad geography:

Hyderabad, city, Telangana state, south central India It is the major urban center of the entire inland south-central India From 1956 to 2014, Hyderabad was located on the Musi River in the heart of the Telangana Plateau, a large plateau of the Deccan (peninsular India) The city site is relatively flat with gentle topography, at an elevation of about 1,600 feet (500 m)

Hyderabad has an elevation of 1,640ft above sea level It spans an area of 260 square kilometers It is located at latitude 17,366 o N and 78,476 o longitude E

The Hyderabad area is mainly mountainous and rocky The city was originally founded on the Musi River starting at Anantagiri Hills 70 kilometers southwest of Hyderabad and meeting the Krishna River near Wazirabad in the Nalgonda district

The city has red sandy soil and is located in seismic zone-II making the land the least prone to earthquakes The highest point in Hyderabad is the Banjara Hills and the contour line decreases

Trang 7

from west to east, resulting in the creation of a trough near the Musi River that flows through the city This feature has facilitated sufficient water supply for the city

Hyderabad is one of the most accessible cities in India Located in the south of India, regular flights operate between Hyderabad and other prominent destinations in India There are regular flights and train services between Hyderabad and other metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore Southern states like Bangalore and Chennai have regular bus services operated by APSRTC The city is just 650 km from Vishakhapatnam, a prominent port on the southeastern coast of India Hyderabad is also part of the south central region of Indian railways and has emerged as a major railway crossing point Widely connected to 7030 stations across the country, its location in the northwest of Andhra makes the city accessible to both southern and northern states

Da nang geography:

Da Nang is a city directly under the central government, located in the South Central Coast region It is the central and largest city in the Central - Central Highlands region Da Nang city stretches from 15°15′ to 16°40′ North and from 107°17′ to 108°20′ East, located in the middle of the country, on the North-South traffic axis in terms of roads, railway, sea and air Da Nang has a natural area of 128,488 ha (1,284.88 km2), of which Hoang Sa island district is 30,500 ha

Da Nang has a coastline of about 92 km, a deep-water bay with Tien Sa seaport, a continental shelf territorial sea with a depth of 200m, forming a large shallow water belt suitable for marine economic development and exchanging with foreign countries

Da Nang City plays an important and nuclear role in the Central Key Economic Zone, and is also one of the five centrally-run cities in Vietnam, a grade I urban center, a national center, and a central city, with Hai Phong and Can Tho

Da Nang is located in the middle position of Vietnam, has an important position in terms of both socio-economic and national defense - security of the Central - Central Highlands region and the whole country; is a coastal city and a very important traffic hub in terms of road, railway, sea and air routes

Unlike Da Nang with plain terrain, Hyderabad is a city located on highland terrain, but this city is very well developed with favorable terrain, so working to this city is not difficult, obstacles in moving

1.2 Time zone:

India uses IST Indian Standard Time To be precise, India follows UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) / GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) + 5:30 India's time zone is calculated based on the central meridian of India Shakargarh Fort, Mirzapur, Allahabad District of Uttar Pradesh, is claimed as the main meridian point of India India time zone is calculated based on longitude 82.5°E at this fort Time in India is one of the exceptions In fact, India is a rather large country with an area of more than 3 million square kilometers and ranks 7th in the world Especially the territory of India stretches from east to west, stretching about 30 degrees longitude Thus, the difference in time to welcome the sun each morning of these two areas will certainly be different The eastern area welcomes the sunrise 2 hours before the rest and so the sun here also sets earlier than the western area Based on this, the country would have three time zones if it followed mean solar time UTC+0600 would match the east and UTC +0500 would match the west of the country However, up to now, India only uses one time zone UTC +05:30, which does not completely satisfy scientists because they think that the whole country is so large but only using one common time zone for two far apart east-west areas will waste electricity and not make good use of daylight Moreover, in terms of the biological mechanism of the human body, every time it is dark, the light is significantly reduced, each person's body will automatically produce more melatonin hormone than during the day, this hormone make people lose focus, easily tired and even sleepy, sluggish The quality and productivity of work can be limited for this reason

Although the government has consistently refused to divide the country into multiple time zones, provisions in labor law such as the Plantation Labor Act 1951 allow the Union and State governments to determine and set the local time for a particular industrial area [12] In Assam, tea gardens follow a separate time zone, known as Chaibagan or Bagan time ('Tea Garden Time'), one hour earlier than IST

Trang 9

In short, despite many unsatisfied opinions, until now, India is still one of the few countries with a large area that uses only one time zone, which is UTC + 05:30

Hyderabad is a city with a location located in south-central India, so using IST time zone to calculate the time here is also relatively accurate, without encountering too big of a difference like the east or west

From east to west, Vietnam will have a faster running time than India On the other hand, the standard Indian time zone is UTC +05:30 and the standard Vietnam time zone is UTC +07:00, so the difference between these two countries will be 1 hour 30 minutes To summarize, when you want to calculate what time is India now, subtract 1 hour 30 minutes from the current time in Vietnam, you will immediately get the exact number of hours in India There is not too much influence because the time difference is not much, so it can be easily adapted, not negatively affected the operation of the business trip

Sunrise, sunset, day length and solar time for Hyderabad - Sunrise: 06:13AM

The Thar Desert in the northwest and the Himalayas in the north work in tandem to create a monsoon regime As Earth's tallest and most massive mountain range, the Himalayas block cold katabatic winds from the icy Tibetan Plateau and northern Central Asia Consequently, most of North India is kept warm or only slightly cold or cold in winter; the same heat dam keeps most parts of India hot in the summer The climate in South India is generally warmer and wetter due to the coastline

Da Nang climate:

Da Nang is located in Central Vietnam, in the tropical monsoon climate area Da Nang's weather is an alternating transition between the northern and southern climates, with the dominant tropical climate in the south So the climate here is not divided into 4 distinct seasons like the North, but only 2 main seasons: dry season and rainy season Dry season from January to September, rainy

Trang 10

season from October to December The average annual temperature is about 25oC, the highest is in June, July and August with an average of 28oC-30oC, the lowest in December, January and February is 18-23oC, sometimes there are strong cold spells but does not last

The average air humidity is 83.4%, the highest in October and November is 85.67% - 87.67%, the lowest in June and July is from 76.67% - 77.33%

Hyderabad climate:

Hyderabad has a unique combination of tropical dry and humid climate bordered by a hot arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSh)

semi-Picture 3:Weather chart for Hyderabad

Hyderabad's climate is quite warm for most of the year and does not receive much rain during the monsoon

In Hyderabad, the wet season is stuffy and cloudy, the dry season is almost blue, and it's hot all year round

In general, the weather here is divided into 3 seasons: summer, rainy season and winter Summer will last from March to May, the weather at this time is quite hot, the peak can reach 40 degrees Celsius, combined with quite high humidity Therefore, making a business trip at this time is quite difficult

The rainy season here will start from June and end in October, making the temperature cooler Although the amount of rain here is not too heavy, the rains will also make a business trip can be difficult

Winter is the best time to come to Hyderabad for business trip here Winter is long from about December - February next year

The weather around this time is a bit chilly and quite pleasant

Therefore, most of the year, the weather and climate of Hyderabad is quite mild and you can visit Hyderabad at any time of the year but the best season to visit Hyderabad is from October However, this will also be the time when Indian tourism is most crowded, so when traveling on business, you will need to prepare mentally and plan carefully

Notes:

Trang 11

- India is a large country, with a variety of terrain from high mountains, plains, to close to the sea Therefore, India has many types of weather, sometimes extreme, accompanied by epidemics To ensure that the business trip goes smoothly, it is necessary to constantly update news from reputable Vietnamese newspapers, or read Indian English newspapers such as Times of India

- Alternatively, you can follow the Twitter account of the National Disaster Management Authority of India (@ndmaindia) The account regularly updates the situation of natural disasters and weather in many regions of this South Asian country The agency also provides appropriate response advice should the weather turn unfavorable - If you have to go to Hyderabad in the summer, you need to bring light or cotton clothes

because the temperature here in the summer is very harsh

1.4 Populatipn situation:

The current estimate population of Hyderabad city in 2023 is 9,283,000 , while Hyderabad metro population is estimated at 10,584,000 The last census was conducted in 2011 and the schedule census for Hyderabad city in 2021 was postponed due to Covid The current estimates of Hyderabad city are based on past growth rate Once government conducts census for Hyderabad city, we will update the same here in 2023 As per provisional reports of Census India, population of Hyderabad in 2011 is 6,731,790 Although Hyderabad city has population of 6,731,790; its urban / metropolitan population is 7,674,689

- Hyderabad Literacy Rate and Sex Ratio:

In education section, total literates in Hyderabad city are 4,939,501 of which 2,642,694 are males while 2,296,807 are females Average literacy rate of Hyderabad city is 83.26 percent of which male and female literacy was 87.31 and 79.04 percent The sex ratio of Hyderabad city is 955 per 1000 males Child sex ratio of girls is 922 per 1000 boys

- Hyderabad Slum Population:

Total no of Slums in Hyderabad city & its Out Growth numbers 507,396 in which population of 2,287,014 resides This is around 32.70% of total population of Hyderabad city and its outgrowth which is 6,993,262

1.5 Security situation:

Trang 12

Picture 4:Crime Comparison Between Da Nang and Hyderabad

Hyderabad, the IT city, continues to be the third safest city in India with only 2,599 crimes per million population About overall crime, Thành ph ố Hyderabad đã báo cáo 21998 trường hợp vào năm 2021 trong khi 22060 trường hợp được báo cáo vào năm 2022.

Comment:

Although Hyderabad is among the top safest cities in India, However, in comparison with the security situation in Da Nang, the level of crime in Hyderabad is almost twice as high Specifically, only home broken and thing stolen are equivalent between the two cities; remaining issues like being mugged or robbed, car stolen, being attacked, being subject to a physical attack because of your skin color, ethnic origin, gender or religion, are much lower in Da Nang than in Hyderabad

Suggestion:

Some common solutions such as: Preserve private property carefully, limit traveling alone Enterprises should arrange delegations to stay in high security areas such as Kukatpally, Kondapur, Uppal, Miyapur, etc In which, we found that the Gachibowli area just met the criteria: high security and convenient in moving (close to Divi's headquarters)

1.6 Traffic situation:

Black spots in the city have gone up to 30 from just 20 in 2019, even as road accidents have come down in 2020 In 2019, Hyderabad recorded 2,496 accidents, while it logged only 1,645 in 2020 Some major cause accidents come from both human error: speeding, pedestrians ignoring Metro stations, and engineering defect: Lack of traffic signals at a few busy areas, the stretch becomes narrow due to a religious structure in the middle of the road

Trang 13

Picture 5:Black spots in Hyderabad

Gachibowli is one of the residential premium locations with stunning high-rise apartments in Hyderabad The locality is approximately 5.5 km away from Hitech city The area offers all the modern amenities and infrastructure for luxury residential living The locality is highly sought after by tech professionals due to its proximity to major office complexes

Gachibowli is well-connected to the rest of Hyderabad by road and the Hyderabad Metro Rail Also, it is just a short distance from the airport Popular tourist places like Golconda Fort, Qutub Shahi Tombs, and Chowmahalla Palace are easily accessible from Gachibowli

Trang 14

Picture 6: Hyderabad traffic situation

Overall, the most convenient route from the Hotel to the headquarters is via Gachibowli Road Our company noticed a high frequency of traffic congestion in Hyderabad so we deliberately chose to stay in the area close to the transaction location to avoid the risk of travel problems and as much time as possible Specifically, the hotel we plan to stay at is FabHotel Viraj Suites Gachibowli, about 2km from Divis company headquarters and 6~8 minutes by car As indicated by Google Maps, the most convenient route is the one through Gachibowli Road Here are some of our observations about typical traffic on this route during weekdays, as our expected business hours are Monday to Friday:

Light traffic between morning and noon

Picture 7:Light traffic between morning and noon

From early afternoon to late afternoon, traffic on this route is moderate

Trang 15

Picture 8: From early afternoon to late afternoon, traffic on this route is moderate

In the evening, the traffic here tends to become crowded

Picture 9: Traffic in the evening

From the above assessment, we have some recommendations in migrating as follows:

To limit the risk of traffic accidents, we should survey the traffic situation from residents and hotel staff In addition, you should choose a reputable car company, even if you have to accept a higher price for moving

Should choose a convenient traffic time frame (from morning to afternoon) to go to trade, avoid the time frame after work and in the evening If we do not have the right to decide on the transaction time frame, we can deduct travel time by arriving at the company's headquarters 15-30 minutes earlier than the transaction time (because of the location of the residence and the company) The partner company is quite close and convenient, so the risk of moving is very low) As for the issue of moving to serve daily activities (going to places to eat, drink, play, shop, ) should prioritize locations near the hotel area to save time and travel costs maximum

- Visa:

India is not among the countries that waive visa requirements for Vietnamese citizens Therefore, you are required to have an Indian visa if you want to enter the country Whether coming to India for any reason, including tourism, visiting family or business, working, the prerequisite is still a valid visa

The Indian government is now allowing foreigners to enter the country for the purpose of tourism, work, study abroad, visit relatives, etc The policy is also becoming more open to citizens from other countries family

It is worth mentioning that applying for a visa to India has become much simpler because it is possible to apply online The government continues to issue e-visas to visitors entering for tourism, business or medical visas As many as 156 countries are eligible to apply for this type of visa, including Vietnam As of March 15, 2022, this policy is in effec t.

India visa online, also known as electronic visa, is issued to foreigners coming to India for tourism, work or medical examination All procedures are submitted online, no need to go directly to the Indian Embassy/Consulate You will receive your visa as an electronic document sent to your registered email when you apply online

Trang 19

Vietnamese citizens who want to come to India for tourism, business or medical reasons can apply for an Indian e-visa E-visa is issued and electronically linked to the passport

It is recommended to choose an electronic visa because it saves time and costs to go to the embassy (embassies are only available in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City)

Fees for electronic Indian visa application include 2 types of fees: Indian Government visa fee: India e-business visa: 80 usd Application processing fee: E-visa for India: 79 usd

- Gift money:

Indians do not require gifts or envelopes in business exchanges People often give each other small gifts - this is part of the relationship-building process and shouldn't be seen as a bribe Indians love to receive gifts such as flowers, chocolates, perfumes or small electrical items You should take care to avoid gifts that are linked to their religious or moral beliefs

Trang 20

Picture 15: The shape, color and design of the rose vase

- Meeting place:

Majority of business meetings take place in a conference room However this depends on the parties involved It is less likely that a first meeting would take place over a meal because of unfamiliarity between the counterparts Indian associates may take some more time and visits to understand the situation, so a first meeting is usually for introduction and agenda analysis in a normal meeting setting

A business meal is an important part of the professional world in India Dinner with a client is more convenient especially in the tense atmosphere of the corporate office Always accept the invitation for lunch or dinner with your Indian counterpart It will present a wonderful opportunity to connect and to know more about your colleagues

Business lunches mainly take place in selected restaurants at midday The host will assign you a seat, with the highest-ranking decision-maker next to their counterpart This is done because it is dictated by India’s hierarchy and status orientation Business lunches are not primarily intended to address business topics neglected in meetings but to meet in a relaxed atmosphere on a personal level

In India, it is customary that the inviting person pays the entire bill and urges the guests repeatedly to order more If you don’t know what to order at business lunches in India, ask your host to choose something for you You can also ask specifically about the specialities of the house and whether your host recommends trying them If you do not like or cannot eat something, it is advisable to give a health reason (preferably an allergy) as a pretext
