Thu An Tutoring Center was established in Viet Nam in 2019 according to the standard model with 100% of teachers having pedagogical and bachelor's certificates.

Established on February 27, 2019, the center is located at No 45, Pho Gach Street, Phuc Tho Town, Phuc Tho District, Ha Noi City, Vietnam, with a charter capital of 500,000,000 VND Committed to fostering a positive learning environment, the center offers students access to experienced teachers.

In 2021, the center achieved a revenue of 1,235 billion VND, reflecting a 10% increase from 2020 Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the center's revenue in the second quarter rose by 8% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Thu An has established itself as a reputable institution in Phuc Tho, offering an effective and engaging learning environment It is recognized as a trustworthy center for enhancing students' communicative English and grammar skills The center boasts a team of highly qualified instructors, all holding international certifications, who are dedicated to their profession and bring a vibrant energy to their teaching.

The THU AN Tutoring Center provides a supportive environment where enthusiastic and friendly teaching assistants motivate students to excel in English and their overall career paths This encouragement fosters a positive learning experience, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

In just three years of operation, Thu An Tutoring Center has quickly established itself as a leading educational hub in the Phuc Tho area and throughout Hanoi The center not only focuses on teaching English to students of all ages but also actively engages in social initiatives, including scholarship awards, extracurricular activities, and ongoing teacher training programs.

Mission of Thu An Tutoring Center

To cultivate a generation equipped to navigate and transform a dynamic world, the center is dedicated to establishing a future-ready education platform that reflects the demands of the modern workplace while fostering values of local and global citizenship.

Functions, duties, Field of activity of Thu An Tutoring Center

 Manage and implement training programs including plans, study programs, learning materials, teaching organization and teaching quality according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and the center.

 Manage courses and study programs, list of HR.

 Implement policies to pay salaries, bonuses and other incomes for center employees.

 Responsible for the QC of the teaching of teachers and teaching assistants.

 Plan to take care of students, offer attractive programs for promotional activities to attract students.

 Training program: English program under the guidance of the MOET and other English language training programs according to students' needs.

The Academic English program offers a comprehensive General English curriculum suitable for all educational levels, from elementary to high school It is designed to prepare students for English competitions organized by the Department of Education, as well as for graduation exams, ensuring a strong foundation in language skills.

 English for primary school students (6-11 years old)

 English for junior high school students (11-15 years old)

 English for high school students (15-18 years old) Teaching program: Distributing the program according to the guidance of the MOET.

 Distribution framework for primary programs:

35 weeks/class (70 periods, 35 minutes per period) Teaching curriculum: Family and Friends 1,2,3

 Distribution framework for junior high school programs:

35 weeks/class (104 periods, 45 minutes per period) Teaching curriculum: English for grades 6,7,8,9

 Distribution framework for high school program:

37 weeks/class (111 periods, 45 minutes per period) Teaching curriculum: English for grades 10, 11, 12

 In addition, the center also has English training programs at levels A1,A2, B1, B2 according to the needs of students.

At Thu An Tutoring Center, we believe that language learning, including English, should focus on practical skills rather than theoretical knowledge Our approach emphasizes continuous application and practice, fostering language reflexes in students We utilize engaging and humorous teaching methods to enhance English comprehension, incorporating techniques such as Total Physical Response, Shadowing Technique, and Active Listening Method to ensure effective learning.

 Tuition refund policy: Students can re-study completely free of charge or request the Center to refund 100% of the paid tuition fees, if the following conditions are met:

- Complete the course within the committed time.

During my internship at the Thu An Tutoring Center, I gained valuable experience in educational support and student engagement The center focuses on personalized tutoring, helping students improve their academic performance I assisted in lesson planning and provided one-on-one tutoring sessions, which enhanced my teaching skills and understanding of diverse learning styles This opportunity allowed me to collaborate with experienced educators and develop effective communication skills, preparing me for a future career in education Overall, my time at Thu An Tutoring Center was instrumental in shaping my professional growth and passion for teaching.

- Attend all tutoring sessions and fail to pass the 3rd final exam.

- When there is something unsatisfactory in the learning process, students have responded to the Academic Advisor but still not received satisfactory support from the Center.

 Transfer policy: Students can completely transfer to a third party when the following conditions are met:

- Consent from Thu An Tutoring Center.

- The student has completed the full tuition fee of the course that he/she wants to transfer.

- Students who have not participated in the course If enrolled, the course is non-transferable.

 Reservation Policy: Students can reserve their courses when they meet the following conditions:

- Students who have not yet started participating in the course are allowed to reserve that course.

- Students who study less than 1/3 of the course duration, have a valid reason (with proof) for their absence from their course

Students have a maximum storage period of 6 months for their reservations If this period expires without active communication with the center to continue their studies, an additional fee of 100,000 VND per month will be charged from the date of expiration to resume the course.

Organization structure of Thu An Tutoring Center

 Organizational structure is important for any growing center Without organizational structure, employees may not succeed in their role due to not understanding responsibilities or bad work processes

During my internship at the Thu An Tutoring Center, I gained valuable experience in educational support and student engagement My responsibilities included assisting tutors in preparing lesson plans and providing one-on-one support to students This role enhanced my communication skills and deepened my understanding of effective teaching strategies Additionally, I learned the importance of creating a positive learning environment that fosters student motivation and success Overall, my time at the tutoring center significantly contributed to my professional development and passion for education.

The center employs a dedicated team of 26 professionals, including 24 highly qualified staff members with university degrees Each specific activity is managed by a creative and enthusiastic team, led by a Director who oversees all operations and sets the center's development strategy Supporting this leadership are the Accounting, Academic, and Enrollment Departments, ensuring a well-rounded approach to the center's functions.

The organizational structure of Thu An Tutoring Center features a straightforward and cohesive management system, characterized by its online-functional administration approach This design ensures that all departments are interconnected and work collaboratively, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness in operations.

The director holds the highest authority within the center, possessing full decision-making power and overseeing all operations Supporting the director, committees play a crucial role in developing operational plans and strategies while directly managing the center's activities.

The Accounting Department is responsible for managing the center's budget, monitoring revenue and expenditures, handling all bills and vouchers, and reporting the budget status to the director as needed.

 Academic Department: responsible for accurately capturing data on the training situation of the center in a certain period, developing a strategic plan for training, teaching and student development.

 Enrollment Department: consult courses and arrange class schedules; assist students in determining their English level and participating in the course.

Overview of the Academic Department

The Academic department is a vital component of any educational institution, responsible for overseeing class activities and managing the roles of teachers and teaching assistants.

The Academic department serves as a key advisor to the Director at Thu An Tutoring Center, collaborating with various departments to devise educational strategies aimed at boosting sales and profits This department has played a crucial role in the center's growth, achieving an impressive student attraction rate of over 10% annually in recent years It is organized into three specialized teams, each responsible for distinct functions and tasks.

Head manager: managing staffs, controlling activities of classes in general, teachers and teaching assistants in specific.

During my internship at the Thu An Tutoring Center, I gained valuable experience in educational support and student engagement The center focuses on personalized tutoring services, catering to diverse learning needs My responsibilities included assisting tutors, preparing educational materials, and interacting with students to foster a positive learning environment This experience enhanced my communication skills and deepened my understanding of effective teaching strategies Overall, my time at Thu An Tutoring Center was instrumental in shaping my professional development in the education sector.

Academic staff are responsible for distributing course information and schedules to teachers and teaching assistants through Gmail prior to the commencement of classes They monitor classroom activities via cameras to ensure that educators adhere to the curriculum and that teaching assistants fulfill their responsibilities effectively This oversight allows them to address any significant issues promptly Additionally, regular attendance by academic staff is essential to guide and inform new teachers about any inappropriate practices.

Teacher: planning course material and activities, organizing classroom lectures, assessing the students’ progress, collaborating with teaching assistants and parents to foster a good student experience.

A Teaching Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting students who require additional help in managing their lessons They assist these students with extra exercises and are responsible for communicating important information, such as test dates, to parents Additionally, Teaching Assistants design test formats, supervise students during midterm and final exams, and ensure timely delivery of results to parents.

INTRODUCTION ABOUT INTERNSHIP PROCESS AT THU AN

The learned lessons

Internships during university are invaluable for gaining real-world experience in a professional setting My four-week internship at Thu An Tutoring Center allowed me to apply my academic knowledge in practice, providing a strong foundation for my future career.

One important lesson I've learned is the value of being proactive in the workplace In a busy environment, everyone is focused on their own responsibilities, leaving little room for others to monitor your progress Therefore, I take the initiative to seek out and complete my assigned tasks When challenges arise, I make it a point to consult with my colleagues or supervisor to find the most effective solutions.

During my internship, I learned the importance of asking questions without fear Initially, I struggled with various tasks and worried about bothering others, which slowed my progress However, my supportive supervisor and colleagues were eager to assist and offer valuable advice, significantly enhancing my learning experience.

During my internship, I significantly enhanced both my soft skills and English proficiency through direct communication with native-speaking teachers I gained valuable experience by teaching English to students and translating important documents, guided by the dedicated staff at Thu An Tutoring Center Their support helped me develop my interpreting skills, as I had the opportunity to work as an interpreter for a native speaker The enthusiastic feedback from the teachers and staff allowed me to learn from my mistakes, providing me with invaluable experience for my future career.

During my internship, I developed valuable teaching skills while working as a teacher and teaching assistant This experience significantly enhanced my English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation as I explained grammar structures to students Observing experienced teachers helped me understand the importance of using appropriate language and engaging effectively with students Additionally, I learned how to design impactful PowerPoint presentations to convey lessons effectively, which are essential skills for successful teaching.

After nearly a month of training at Thu An Tutoring Center, I myself have accumulated valuable lessons and will always be useful to me in the future.

PART 3: THE REALITY OF USING ENGLISH IN THU AN TUTORING

3.1 The reality of using English in Thu An Tutoring Center

English proficiency is a key requirement for employee recruitment, varying by position and department Applicants must meet specific English language standards, which will be assessed during the interview process through communication in English.

The frequency of English usage varies among departments at the center The Academic department utilizes English daily, as it directly interacts with foreign teachers to address their needs, requiring staff to communicate in both spoken and written English In contrast, the Enrollment and Accounting departments use English less frequently; the Enrollment department focuses on course consultations and class scheduling for students, while the Accounting department primarily relies on Vietnamese for report writing.

3.2 Proposing solutions to improve the quality of using English in the center

Following my internship at Thu An Tutoring Center, I believe the center should implement strategies to assist employees in enhancing their English skills Many individuals struggle to learn English independently within the workplace, highlighting the need for structured support and resources.

The internship report highlights the challenges faced by employees at the Thu An Tutoring Center, particularly regarding their confidence in speaking English, which hinders effective communication in the workplace To address this issue, I propose several solutions aimed at enhancing English language proficiency and encouraging a more open dialogue among staff These strategies will not only improve individual confidence but also foster a more collaborative and communicative work environment.

When recruiting candidates, it is essential to assess their English proficiency alongside their professional qualifications Each position should have a clearly defined English skill requirement to ensure that applicants meet the necessary standards.

To enhance English proficiency among employees, it is essential to encourage all departments to utilize English more frequently and create opportunities for collaboration with international colleagues Increased interaction with foreigners will not only boost employees' language skills but also foster greater confidence in their communication abilities.
