3. Tính từ ghép
- Noun + Adj: world famous
- Noun + PII: man-made
- Adj + Adj: dark blue
- Adj + Noun: round-table
- Adj + Noun + ed: black-eyed
- Adj + Ving: good-looking

- Adv + Ving: far-seeing
- Adv + PII: well-done

a. Làm định ngữ: đứng trước danh từ nó bổ ngữ: He is a rich man.
b. Làm bổ ngữ: Đứng sau động từ “tobe” hoặc các động từ liên hệ “get, become, grow…”: Ex:
Her voice is sweet He becomes angry with his wife.
5. Thứ tự của tính từ
c. Tính chất (quality) + Tuổi tác (age) + Màu sắc (colour) + Danh từ (Noun)
6. Ex: I like my beautiful new pink dress.
d. Kích cỡ (size) Tính chất (quality) + Tuổi tác (age) + Màu sắc (colour) + Danh từ (Noun)
7. Ex: That is a big beautiful new red car.
e. Tính chất + Kích cỡ + Tuổi tác + Màu sắc + Quốc tịch + Chất liệu + Danh từ
8. Ex: He has an interesting old Chinese earthenware vase It is an attractive new green silk dress.
f. Quality + size + age + shape + colour + material + origin + Noun
