environment This part of I EC 6271 is applicable to flexible display panels and m odules such as liquid crystal display devices (LCDs), electric paper display devices (EPDs), and organic light em itting diode display devices (OLEDs) This part of I EC 6271 will also be suitable for flexible panel or module with m echanical operation N o rm a t i ve re fe re n c e s The following docum ents are browsing platform : available at http: //www iso.org/obp Structure of measuri n g equi pment The system diagrams and/or operating conditions of the measuring equipment shall com pl y with the structure specified in each item 5 Stand ard condi ti on s Stan d ard referen ce atm osph ere The following conditions are applied: – tem perature: 25 °C – air pressure: 01 ,3 kPa NOTE No req uirem ent for rel ative hum idity is gi ven because correction by calcu lation is g enerall y n ot possibl e I f the parameters to be measured depend on temperature and/or pressure, and their dependence on temperature and pressure is known, the parameter values can be m easured under the conditions specified in and corrected by calculation to the standard reference atm osphere above Stan d ard atm osph eri c d i ti on s for referee m easu rem en ts an d tests I f the param eters to be m easured depend on temperature, pressure and hum idity and their dependence on tem perature, pressure and humidity d ard atmosph eri c dition s for m easu rem en ts an d tests Unless otherwise specified, all tests and measurem ents shall be carried out under standard atm ospheric conditions: – tem perature: °C to 35 °C – relative humidity: 25 % to 85 %, where appropriate – air pressure: 86 kPa to 06 kPa Recovery d iti on s The recovery conditions specified in I EC 60068-1 : 201 3, 4, shall be applied The flexible panel or module shall be subj ected to the recovery procedure in the cham ber or otherwise as appropriate The flexible panel or m odule shall then remain under standard atm ospheric conditions for recovery for a period adequate for the attainment of tem perature stability, with a minimum of h If required by the relevant specification, the panel or module shall be switched on or loaded and m easured continuousl y during the recovery period If the standard conditions given above are not appropriate for the device to be tested, the relevant specification may call for other recovery conditions 5 Stan d ard atmosph eri c dition s for assisted d ryin g The conditions specified in I EC 60068-1 : 201 3, 5, shall be applied Where assisted drying is required before comm encing a series of measurements, the following conditions (see Table 2) shall be used for h, unless otherwise prescribed by the relevant specification Table – Assi sted d ryi n g d iti on Tem peratu re 55 a drying, a note, stating the actual conditions, shall be added to the test report When the specified temperature for the dry heat test is lower than 55 °C, the assisted drying shall be carried out at Unless otherwise specified, the flexible display panels or m odules shall be tested in a state that is read y for normal operation without an y protective elem ents added, nor voltage applied I EC 6271 5-6-2: 201 © I EC 201 –9– Measurements and analysis The following item s shall be evaluated at the beginning, after the cyclic bending test and after the final environm ent test: a) Visual inspection Visual inspection shall be perform ed according to I EC 6271 5-5-3 b) Optical performance Optical perform ance m easurement shall refer to I EC 6271 5-5-1 c) I mage quality I m age quality measurem ent shall refer to I EC 62341 -6-2 and I EC 62341 -6-3 EPD m easuring conditions refer to I EC 62679-3-2 Depending on the purpose of the test, onl y one, some or all of the m ethods shall be used The measuring frequency and evaluation criteria shall be specified in the detailed specifications Environmental testing methods 7.1 General For the flexible panel or m odule, the m echanical cycling test should be done before the temperature and hum idity test First and foremost, the flexible panel or module shall endure the cyclic bending tests The bending radius and bending tim es are according to the product detail specification The detailed cyclic bending test refers to I EC 6271 5-6-1 After the bending test, the flexible panel or m odule shall be tested with the tem perature and humidity The temperature and humidity testing method is often used as one of several endurance testing methods When the testing m ethod defined in this docum ent is used as one of these endurance testing m ethods, review the testing period and/or conditions appropriatel y as specified in the relevant specification I f the product is curved, it can go through the tem perature and humidity test directl y For the test of electrical operation, the operating conditions shall refer to Before the final m easurements, the recovery procedure referred to in 5.4 should be com pleted The effect of simultaneous stress com bination between the m echanical cycling test and the other tests shall be evaluated if necessary according to the specifications 7.2 7.2.1 Storage at high temperature Pu rpose The purpose of this test is to check the perform ance of the flexible display panel and module after high tem perature storage The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-2 shall be applied 7.2.2 Test conditions Test Bb of I EC 60068-2-2 shall be applied with the following specific conditions Test Bb: Dry heat for non heat-dissipating specimens with gradual change of tem perature a) Tem perature (1 00, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30) °C ± °C – 10 – I EC 6271 5-6-2: 201 © I EC 201 b) Duration time h, h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, 20 h, 68 h, 92 h, 240 h, 300 h, 500 h and 000 h The temperature and duration used shall be noted in the report 7 Storag e at l ow tem peratu re Pu rpose The purpose of this test is to check the performance of the flexible display panel and module after low temperature storage The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-1 shall be applied Test d i ti on s Test Ab of I EC 60068-2-1 shall be applied with the following specific conditions Test Ab: Cold for non heat-dissipating specimens with gradual change of temperature a) Tem perature (-50, -45, -40, -35, -30, -25, -20, -1 5, -1 0, -5, 0) °C ± °C b) Duration time h, h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, 20 h, 68 h, 92 h, 240 h, 300 h, 500 h and 000 h The temperature and duration used shall be noted in the report 7 Tem peratu re ch an g e, storag e Pu rpose The purpose of this test is to check the ability of the flexible display panel and module to withstand either rapid change of tem perature or specific change rate of temperature while the flexible display m odule is turned off Test N a of I EC 60068-2-1 shall be applied to rapid change of temperature and Test N b to the specified rate of temperature The tem perature and duration should be chosen based on specifications Rapi d ch an g e of displ ay panel or m odule after temperature and hum idity storage The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-78 shall be applied 7.5.2 Test conditions I EC 60068-2-78 shall be applied with the following specific conditions a) Tem perature The tem perature shall be selected from the values given below depending on application (60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 5, 0) °C ± °C b) Hum idity The humidity shall be selected from the values given below depending on application (1 0, 5, 20, 30, 80, 85, 90, 93) % RH ± % RH c) Duration tim e The duration shall be selected from the values given below depending on application h, h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, 96 h, 20 h, 68 h, 92 h, 240 h, 300 h, 500 h and 000 h The tem perature, humidity and duration used shall be noted in the report (see Table 3) Table – hum idity, combined with cyclic tem perature changes depending on application The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-30 shall be applied 7.6.2 Test conditions IEC 60068-2-30 shall be applied with the following specific conditions a) High tem perature The temperature shall be selected from the values given below depending on application (60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35) °C ± °C – 12 – I EC 6271 5-6-2: 201 © I EC 201 b) Low temperature (25 ± 3) °C c) Humidity (93 ± 3) % RH d) Cycle The num ber of cycles shall be selected from the values given below depending on application , 2, 5, 0, 20, 30 or 50 The temperature, hum idity and cycle used shall be noted in the report 7 7 Operati on at h i g h tem peratu re Pu rpose The purpose of this test is to check the perform ance of the flexible display panel and m odule after operation at high tem perature operating conditions The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-2 shall be applied 7 Test d i ti on s Test Bd or Be of I EC 60068-2-2 shall be applied with the following specific conditions The relevant specification shall define the test (Bd or Be) to be used Depending on the application, the com bination of tem perature and operating tim e should be considered Test Bd: Dry heat for heat-dissipating specimens with gradual change of temperature that are not powered during the conditioning period Test Be: Dry heat for heat-dissipating specimens with gradual change of temperature that are required to be powered throughout the test a) Tem perature (80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30) °C ± °C b) Operating tim e h, h, h, h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h this test is to check the performance of the flexible display panel and m odule after operation at low tem perature operating conditions The test procedure of I EC 60068-2-1 shall be applied Test d i
