for calculating the supplied gas energy can be found in EN 458-2 – 58 – I EC PAS 631 24:201 © I EC 201 An n e x I (informative) M e a s u re m e n t o f e x h a u s t a i r vo l u m e I.1 P ro c e d u re The volumetric flow rate of exhaust air shall be measured while the is operating without a load and with the heater switched off The shall be attached to the standard exhaust described in Annex B and the m easurem ent shall be m ade using the equipm ent described in EN I SO 51 67-1 t u m b l e d ry e r tu m b l e d ry e r The pressure at the outlet of the standard exhaust and in the vicinity of the dryer relative to the environment shall be maintained at Pa at the operating flow rate The air temperature, humidity and pressure shall be maintained at 23 °C, 55 % RH and ,01 × Pa respectivel y NOTE A form al procedu re for this test is under devel opm ent I.2 E xh a u s t a i r vo l u m e Exhaust air volum e V is calculated from the volum etric flow rate and the duration of the and expressed in cubic metres: ru n V = F×t where F t is the volum etric flow rate m easured according to EN I SO 51 67-1 ; and is the average p ro g m m e t i m e te s t I EC PAS 631 24:201 © I EC 201 – 59 – Annex J (normative) Measurement of the textile drying temperature J.1 General The textile drying tem perature shall be m easured by temperature loggers placed am ong the test load in the drying basket and following the load during the drying procedure J.2 Specification of the loggers The specification of the tem perature logger is given in Table J Table J.1 – Specification of temperature logger suitable for temperatu re measurement for both washing and drying Tem peratu re range °C – 50 °C Accuracy ≤ 0, °C over full ran ge Resol ution ≤ 0, °C Response tim e TC (1 – 90 %) a water ≤ m in Response tim e TC (1 – 90 %) a m oving r(2 m /sec) ≤ m in Sam pling rate ≤ 10 s Max m ass 70 g a J.3 TC (1 %–90 %) is the tim e it takes for the sensor to traverse between % and 90 % of its final valu e Response tim e can also be expressed as a TC 63 % val ue The 63 % fi gu re is the ti m e for the sensor to reach 63 % of its final val ue TC %–90 % an d the TC 63 % value are of approxi m ately the sam e m agnitude for a given sensor Preparation of the loggers before measurement The tem perature logger shall be placed in a textile pocket made of the sam e fabric as the test load The size of the pocket shall not be excessivel y larger than the logger By doing this the logger will be protected from extensive shocks when hitting the basket walls and also an y damage to the test load will be minim ized The pocket shall be closed by cl ips or by an y other means I n order to make the logger follow the motion pattern of the test load as close as possible the pocket shall be attached to one of the m edium -sized test sheets J.4 Number of loggers Following number of tem perature loggers shall be placed in the tu mble dryer depending on the size of the dryer The num ber of tem perature loggers to be placed in the dryer is dependent on the size of the dryer as described in Table J – 60 – I EC PAS 631 24:201 © I EC 201 Table J.2 – Nu mber of temperatu re loggers to be used during a textile drying temperature measurement J.5 Size of drying basket Number of temperature loggers to use < 200 l 200 l – 000 l > 000 l Measuring the temperature The loggers shall be placed in the middle of the load before the d rying sequence is started I f more than one logger is used they shall be placed evenl y within the drum The loggers shall follow the drying textiles throughout the drying process until the end of the programme Directl y after the programme end the loggers shall be removed and the logged data loaded to a computer J.6 Presenting the result The tem perature data obtained by the logger shall preferabl y be presented as a curve showing the temperature during the whole drying process The result can be presented as individual tem perature profiles for each logger or as a m ean value of the loggers for each time point I f m ax drying tem perature shall be reported max drying tem perature shall be defined as the highest tem perature measured during the drying cycle by an y logg er I EC PAS 631 24:201 © I EC 201 – 61 – Bibliography [1 ] EN 458-2, Domestic direct gas-fired tumble dryers of types B22D and B23D, of [2] EN 60704-1 : 201 0, Household and similar
