SUMMARY OF NEW CONCLUSIONS OF DOCTORAL THESIS Thesis title: Assessment of creative ability in creating argumentative essay of high school students Specialization: Theory and Methods of Teaching Literature - Vietnamese Code: 14 01 11 PhD student: Nguyen Thi Huong Lan Instructor: Assoc Prof Dr Nguyen Thi Hong Van Assoc Prof Dr Hoang Hoa Binh Training institution: Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences New conclusions of the thesis The thesis clarifies the theoretical basis related to the thesis, including: Clarifying the concept of capacity, creative capacity, creative capacity in creating argumentative essay, capacity assessment, assessment of creative ability in creating argumentative essay of high school students Proposing the structure of creative capacity in creating argumentative essay of high school students, the way to develop creative capacity in creating argumentative essay as the basis for this capacity assessment activity of high school students Developing standards for assessing creativity and tools for assessing creativity is an open-ended question to assess creativity in creating social and literary essay writings of high school students The system of assessment tools for thesis creativity proposed through pedagogical experimentation has confirmed that if the evaluation tool is well used, the system of open-ended questions will encourage and create opportunities to help students learn Students can demonstrate their creative ability in the process of creating argumentative essay, and at the same time, perform the role and function of students' ability assessment activities, including creative ability Hanoi, July 20th, 2022 On behalf of the guiding staff PGS.TS Nguyen Thi Hong Van PhD student Nguyen Thi Huong Lan
