Date of planning:………… Period .: UNIT : A VISIT TO SCHOOL Lesson : LOOKING BACK & PROJECT Date of teaching: ……… … WEEK: I OBJECTIVE: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to gain the following things : Knowledge: - Review the vocabulary and grammar of Unit - Apply what they have learnt (vocabulary and grammar) into practice through a project + Vocabulary: Use the words related to the topic A visit to a school ( Schools, school facilities, and school activities ) - ask for details; - pronounce the sounds /tʃ/ and /dʒ/ correctly; + Grammar: - Use the prepositions of time and place; Competence: Students will be able to practice listening and reading skills - Develop communication skills and cultural awareness - Be cooperative and supportive in pair work and teamwork - Actively join in class activities Qualities: - Be more creative when doing the project - Ss have the good attitude to working in groups, individual work, pairwork, cooperative learning - Develop self-study skills II TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Grade text book, laptop, projector / TV/ pictures and cards - Students : Text books, studying equipment… - Computer connected to the Internet - Sach mem.vn III PROCEDURE: Notes: In each activity, each step will be represented as following: * Deliver the task * Implement the task * Discuss * Give comments or feedback WARM UP & INTRODUCTION(3’) Aims: - This is the review and drill section of the unit Encourage Ss not to refer back to the unit pages Instead they can use what they have learnt during the unit to help them answer the questions - That will help you and your Ss see how far they have progressed, and which areas need further practice - Encourage Ss to review and drill section of the unit * Content: Review the previous lesson or have some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to inspire Ss to warm up to the new lesson * Outcome: Having a chance to speak English and focus on the topic of the lesson * Organisation :Teacher’s instructions… Teacher’s & Student’s activities + Greeting + Brainstorming * Teacher divides the board, and divides the class into teams - Members of each team take turns and write as many school facilities as possible in minutes - Students cross check their answers first - Teacher confirms the answers and gives feedback The group having more correct answers is the winner - Encourage Ss not to refer back to the unit - Ask them to record their answers to each exercise so that they can use that information to complete the self-assessment box at the end of the unit Content + Greeting: T_ Ss Brainstorming + Play games + Listen carefully and the tasks PRESENTATION/ NEW LESSON ( 25’) ACTIVITY 1: Vocabulary Aim: To help Ss revise the words / phrases related to the topic * Content: Revision on the words Find the words/ phrases that match the definitions * Outcome: Ss remember the words/ phrases Find the words/ phrases that match the definitions correctly * Organisation : Teacher’s instructions… Teacher’s & Student’s activities Content Find the words and phrases from this unit Find the words and phrases from this that match these definitions unit that match these definitions - Tell Ss to read the definitions first Then ask - T_ Ss them to find the words / phrases in the unit that + Students (Ss) listen to the instructions match these definitions carefully and learn how to the tasks - Give them time to it individually Then * Answer key: compare their answers with their partners' well-known - Ask some Ss to read the words / phrases aloud (school) facilities Then T checks their answers as a class an entrance exam gifted students - Check Ss' answers as a class outdoor activities ACTIVITY 2: Aim : To help Ss use the words/ phrases in to complete the sentences * Content: Complete the sentences using the word in * Outcome: Ss revise the use of words Complete the sentences using the word in correctly * Organisation : Complete the sentences with the words and Complete the sentences with the words and phrases in phrases in - Ss work in pairs - Have Ss work in pairs or groups, discussing what word / phrase can be used to complete each of the sentences - Call on some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.!
