Task 2: Some people say that products should be designed to last as long as possible Others say that it is more important for products to be as cheap as possible Discuss both these views and give your own opinion Done In the contemporary world, due to the thriving of economy and society, there is an increasing number of people argue that should be designed to last long as possible, while others think it is more important for products to be as cheap as possible Although, in a nutshell, both two ideas have it own advantages, I completely agree with the first view On the one hand, when products are designed to last long as possible, it will benefits not only individual budget but also the environment As being durable, the public don not need to buy a new one in a long period of time Consequences, it will help people save a lot of money because they just only need to spend for it for only one time Moreover, when products are long lasting, it would also reduce the amount of waste that human disposal into the environment But, incontrary, with a long lasting product, smartphone for example, people tend to change it in one or two The outcome of this throw-away life style is that it make those long lasting producted become harmful to our environment On the other hand, many people believe that low price is more important than quality When products have low price, it will be affordable for everybody in our society including the poor people This has been proved through our history, take a computer as an example, it used to cost several thousand of dollars for only one computer, but now, with just only several hundred of dollars you can own it As a result, this will bring greater equality and opportunity to our society, especsially when it come to cars and other essential things in our daily life But, as everybody know, low price is not always come with good quality By and large, Although I can fully aware about the advantages and disadvantages of both two statements, I personally believe that products should be designed to last long as possible in order to protect environment and of couse, the enhancement in the public mindset will need to come along with it
