Job Title: International Program Assistant, Global AWAKEnings Department: Center for Global Programs and Studies Reports to: Director of Global Abroad Programs/On-Site Faculty or Staff Administrator Summary: The International Program Assistant is responsible for providing programmatic, residential life and housing, and cultural integration support for the Global AWAKEnings program based in Copenhagen, Denmark Essential Functions:  Assists in all phases of pre-departure and on-site orientations (i.e preparation, planning, and execution)  Lives in student residence hall abroad and creates a sense of community through formal and informal personal interactions with student residents  Plans and conducts mandatory housing meetings  Facilitates cultural integration and immersion for students by organizing events connected with local culture  Organizes activities and events connecting first-year students with Wake Forest University (WFU) traditions  Develops and leads at least one weekend “Discovery Trip” per semester  Acts as a resource for residents  Maintains peace and order within the residence hall by enforcing established rules  Communicates with appropriate on-site staff (i.e WFU resident professors and DIS staff) and local departments (i.e facilities, IT, housekeeping, Housing and Student Affairs, and the Care Team) regarding any issues within the residence hall or regarding any emergency situations  Assists WFU resident professors and DIS staff with program-related activities and excursions  Provides general administrative support to WFU resident professor(s) Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  Bachelor’s degree or a member of the Wake Forest University undergraduate graduating class for the most recent/current academic year  Experience studying abroad  Ability to fluently communicate in English both verbally and in writing  Excellent judgment and ability to deal with difficult situations  Ability to be flexible in work assignments  Ability to work independently  Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, on-site staff, and University officials Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  Experience studying, living, or working in Denmark  Proficiency in Danish Accountabilities:  Responsible for own work Note: This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance It cannot encompass all specific job tasks that an employee may be required to perform Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as may be reasonably assigned by his/her supervisor Application For questions, please write to HRsupport@dis.dk Submit the application no later than 20th of March 2017 by noon
