New York Medical College A member of the Touro College and University System “We have new energy, new ideas, and big plans Exciting things are happening here!” - Edward C Halperin, MD., MA., Chancellor and CEO EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION I Position Overview The Manager of Foundation and Corporate Giving will create and execute a plan to develop an ambitious program seeking new and stewarding existing Foundation and Corporate funders New York Medical College (NYMC) is expanding the development and alumni relations team to achieve growth in philanthropic support The team and culture is highly collaborative and collegial This position presents a great opportunity for a motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter to make a huge impact at NYMC II PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions*) 1.Develop and implement a plan for expanding Foundation and Corporate support, incorporating performance metrics and goals in collaboration with the Vice President 2.Proactively research and discover new Foundation and Corporate donors whose grant criteria match giving opportunities at NYMC Write grants and proposals, with appropriate attention to detail, deadlines, and timely follow up, and successfully secure new grants Interface with NYMC faculty, staff, and administrators to learn about fundable priorities, obtaining relevant budget projections and program content, as well as working to support stakeholders and Principle Investigators for grant applications, as necessary 5.Serve as prospect manager for a portfolio of foundation and corporate donors Help build a program of corporate support/sponsorship for NYMC’s signature Founder’s Dinner fundraising event and other initiatives that lend themselves to corporate funders Work with Advancement Services to create and implement an efficient system of tracking progress of grants Steward existing and new Foundation/Corporate donors with appropriate reports and correspondence, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements 9 Arrange and participate in visits to NYMC campus or Foundation/Corporate offices as necessary with relevant NYMC faculty/staff and Foundation/Corporate representatives and prepare appropriate briefing materials 10 Attend regular team and other NYMC meetings 11 Other duties as assigned *To comply with regulations by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the principal duties in job descriptions must be essential to the job To identify essential functions, focus on the purpose and the result of the duties rather than the manner in which they are performed The following definition applies: a job function is essential if removal of that function would fundamentally change the job (HR-2E) 10/2013 FLSA Classification, Exempt – Salary, Non-Exempt - Hourly III EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS (A) Education requirement:  Bachelor’s Degree; (B) Licenses or certifications: (C) Technical/computer skills:  Knowledge of: Foundation Center Search and other Foundation/Corporate research tools (D) Prior experience:  Professional grant writing experience (E) Other skills/requirements:   Excellent oral and written communication skills Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and organized *To comply with regulations by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the principal duties in job descriptions must be essential to the job To identify essential functions, focus on the purpose and the result of the duties rather than the manner in which they are performed The following definition applies: a job function is essential if removal of that function would fundamentally change the job (HR-2E) 10/2013 FLSA Classifications, Exempt – Salary, Non-Exempt – Hourly Send resume with cover letter indicating position of interest to: Alicia Parrish, Employment Manager, Human Resources Department at Recruiter@nymc.edu or HR fax 914-594-4309 Candidates of interest will be contacted to schedule interviews New York Medical College is committed to excellence through diversity and inclusion and welcomes candidates of all backgrounds New York Medical College is an Equal Opportunity Employer ...9 Arrange and participate in visits to NYMC campus or Foundation/ Corporate offices as necessary with relevant NYMC faculty/staff and Foundation/ Corporate representatives and prepare appropriate...
