Giáo án Tiếng Anh – Năm học 2021 -2022 – Gv: Phạm Thị Ngọc WEEK 19 Ngày soạn: 20/12/2021 Ngày dạy: Sáng 29/12/2021 Tiết 55 UNIT – TELEVISION Lesson 1: Getting started I OBJECTIVES Knowledge: (language focus) By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Use lexical items related to the topic television programmes for children - Use the vocabulary and structures to talk about famous children’s programmaes - Vocabulary: talent, programme, animated, prefer, character, educational, … - Grammar and structures: Wh- questions and conjunctions in compound sentences: and, but, so - Pronunciation: produce the sound /θ/ and /δ/ correctly Competences: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - develop their listening and reading skills through reading for general and specific information about a TV guide - Find and write the adjectives in the conversation which describe the programmes and characters - talk about a favourite TV programme by interviewing in groups - develop communication and collaboration, problem solving and creativity skills through pair-work and group-work activities to practice the dialogue and taking part in the class activities - develop linguistic competence Qualities: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to show their love for their TV programmes by taking and writing about it with positive attitudes II TEACHING AIDS Materials: - Teacher’s book - pictures - webpage: http://www.sachmem.vn Equipment: - laptop/ computer, speaker, projector, … III PROCEDURE Steps + time Aims Learning activities/ procedures Language focus Giáo án Tiếng Anh – Năm học 2021 -2022 Warm up (5 minutes) To introduce the topic – Gv: Phạm Thị Ngọc * Spider web completion: - Teacher draws a spider web on the board with the word TELEVISION in the middle - Teacher askes students to give any words they know relating to the topic - Students give their answer - Teacher writes down the answer on he board Lead in (2 minutes) To lead in - Teacher draws students’ attention to the the topic title of the conversation and the picture in of the unit the textbook and asks them questions like: What you think they are talking about? Do you like watching TV? Why/Why not? How many hours a day you watch TV? What channel you like best?
