4th STATEWIDE SYMPOSIUM ON HOMELAND SECURITY Featuring research of the NJ Universities Consortium on Homeland Security Hosted by Monmouth University School of Science, Technology and Engineering with the support of the Center for Rapid Response Database Systems DATE: Monday, May 23, 2005 PLACE: The Rebecca Stafford Student Center – Anacon Hall- A & B - 2nd Floor DIRECTIONS: http://www.monmouth.edu/about/abo_glance_campusmap.asp and http://www.monmouth.edu/about/ataglance/directions.asp which include directions and a campus map Parking will be available in the main student parking area next to the Rebecca Stafford Student Center TIME: 7:30 am – pm THEME: Leveraging Research Collaborations and Partnerships to meet New Jersey’s Homeland Security Needs FORMAT: The Symposium will be in a plenary session format throughout Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Monmouth University in a Multi-Purpose Room ROLES: The morning sessions will present a view of current university research activities in four areas: • Communications and Networking – Moderator - Patrick White, Stevens Institute of Technology • Modeling and Simulation – Moderator - Fred Roberts, Rutgers University • Sensors – Moderator – Barbara Reagor, Monmouth University • Bio-Chemical Preparedness – Moderator - Brendan McCluskey, UMDNJ University contributions from different schools will be included in each panel The afternoon session will bring together a panel of University, DoD and State Executives to discuss ways to leverage our states wealth of university research and meet the Homeland Security needs of New Jersey The Panel will include Mr John P Pacskowski (PANYNJ), Anthony D Anania (US Army CERDEC), Fred Roberts (DIMACS-Rutgers), Nancy Connell (UMDNJ), G Thomas Garrett (NJ-OCT) and Donald Sebastian (NJIT) – Moderator – Barbara Reagor, Monmouth University KEYNOTE: John P Paczkowski, Director, Operations and Emergency Management, The Port Authority of NY & NJ GOALS: To share our research directions and find ways to increase collaboration between Universities and the private sector that meets the needs of New Jersey NJ University Consortium for Homeland Security includes schools: Rutgers University, University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, NJ Institute of Technology, Stevens Institute of Technology, Fairleigh Dickenson University, Monmouth University, and Princeton University For Information and RSVP, contact: Barbara Reagor, breagor@monmouth.edu For media Inquiries, contact: Petra Ludwig, pludwig@monmouth.edu ...
