UNIT 11: TRAVELLING IN THE FUTURE Lesson 6: Skill I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: Knowledge: * Vocab: • use the lexical items related to the topic Travelling in the future and means of transport in the future • listen for specific information about means of transport in the future write a passage about the advantages of the mean of transport they’ve chosen * Grammar: The simple future Competences: - Know how to use the future tenses and use some words to say about the means of transport in the future Develop listening and writing - Communication, self-learning capability, creative capacity, ability to listening and writing skills Qualities: - have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities - they can listen, speak, read, understand the dialogue about means of transport in the future and write a short paragraph about the advantage of transport II TEACHING AIDS Teacher: Text books, pictures, planning, … - Grade textbook, Unit 11, Skill - Smart TV/Pictures, sets of word cards - sachmem.vn Students: Text books, notebooks, posters, … III PROCEDURES: 1.Warm-up (5’) * Aim: - activate students’ knowledge on the topic of the unit - set the context for the listening and writing part * Content: Game: network (about means of transport) * Products: Ss write words exactly on the board Teacher’s and Ss’activities Content - Look at the picture on page 116- 118 in * Network: 20 seconds and try to remember as many words as possible - electric scooter, electric car, - Teacher divides the class into two teams walkcar, hyperloop, roadrunner’s - Ss go to the board and write the words car, solar- powered ship, - Teacher gets feedback -> Today we are going to learn some more combinations about means of transport in the future and their advantages Presentation (5’) * Aim: Enrich students’ vocabulary to talk about means of transport in the future and their advantages and disadvantages * Content: Vocabulary about means of transport and their advantages * Products: Read and understand the meaning of words Teacher’s and Ss’activities Content Pre teach vocabulary * Vocabulary - Teacher use different techniques to teach - safe, green, fast, convenient, vocab (pictures, situation, realia) driverless……… - Follow the seven steps of teaching vacab - Repeat in chorus and individually - Copy all the words * Checking vocab: < Matching> Pre- listening (5’) Task * Aims: To help students brainstorm and have an overview about what they are going to listen to * Content: Guess the answer to the following questions * Products: Students say the correct answers aloud Teacher’s and Ss’activities Content Task 1:T –Sts : Sts- Sts Task 1: Guess the answer to the following ( pair work) questions - Teacher lets students work - Do you think the future means of transport are in pairs and discuss the comfortable?/ eco- friendly?/ having an questions Encourage them to autopilot function?/ running on petrol? speak English and feel free to -> Yes, they do/ No, they don’t make guesses - Teacher plays the recording once Students listen to check their guesses While- listening(6’) Task 2: T - Sts, Sts - Sts Task 2: Work in pairs Listen to a talk between -Teacher asks students to read Mr Ha and his students How many means of the statements, underline the transport are they talking about?
