III IV V The real situation of The real situation of IBD students during class hours Impacts of bad discrplines Reasons for students’s bad disciplines Solutions Conclusions References Appendices II Introduction Background Rationale and purpose Research question Methodology Major Findings Page Structure I Chapter II: Major findings I The real situation of IBD students during class hours After the group synthesizes the surveys, analyze the statistics of the surveys, we would like to show out the real situation, impacts, reasons and solutions of bad discipline during class hours Bad disciplines of IBD students This chart below pointes out the percentage of bad discipline of IBD students The data were analyzed based on responses of IBD students Bad disciplines of IBD students Go to class late Use phone during class Not respect teacher Skip class Smoke Bully other students Do not have idea Do not have bad disciplines 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 Figure 1: Bad disciplines of IBD students Page When being asked about bad disciplines of IBD students, there are types of bad disciplines which are chosen by more than 20% They are: not respecting the teachers (41.7%), skipping class(37.5%), going class late(62.5%), using phone during class(45.8%) and smoking(25%) The rest are: bullying other students(16.7%) And 4.2% of students who not know any bad disciplines of IBD Students And the other 4.2% of students suppose that IBDers are good students, so they not have bad disciplines The chart indicated that many bad behaviors of students during class are not suitable for learning environment The most noticeable point is the percentage of students who not respect teachers That is an unacceptable action of students in general Especially, the research aims to IBDers that is one of us It is a quite surprising result Self-evaluation of IBD students This chart indicates information when being asked about what the bad disciplines of yourself Self-evaluation of IBD students use the phone during the class Go to class late 33.3 5 Bully other students 4 Smoke 3 Sleep 37.5 6 Skip class Not respect the teacher 79.2 7 13 8.3 2 1 16.7 4.2 Figure 2: Self-evaluation of IBD students The difference from part 2, the number of the students not respect the teacher is a reduction It is about 8.3% which is the second least percentages of selected It is quite obvious Because people rarely want to admit that they didn't have enough respect for their teachers And the highest percentage is “using the phone during the class hours ” It accounts for 79.2% The reason why students using the phone in class is really simple It is just because of the multi-function of the phone For example, chatting, playing games, surfing the internet, etc The second highest precentage is “go to class late” Today, many things happen around students And they can be rolled in Traffic jams prevent them from going to class on time Maybe students cannot go to class on time because they weak overnight to watching a firm or surfing web,ect And IBD students also do: skip class (33.3%), bully other students (16.7%), smoke (13%) and sleep (4.2) 3 The frequency of doing private tasks in class This chart showes off how often IBDers did private tasks in class The frequency of doing private tasks in class Almost never 16.68% 4.20% sometimes Frequently Almost all the time 79.12% Figure 3: The frequency of doing private tasks in class The most noticeable point is the percent of students who are never doing bad disciplines in class It is account for 0% It means noone who answered this survey is a good student And the highest percentage selected is " sometimes" It is 79.2% Two remaining selected are " frequently" (16.7%) and "almost all the time" (4.2%) Period of time of doing bad behaviours Those charts above indicated the some real bad disciplines of IBDers And this chart will show when the students private in class hours Period of time of doing bad behaviours 50.00% 45.00% 40.00% 35.00% 30.00% 25.00% 20.00% 15.00% 10.00% 5.00% 0.00% StartStart time;time 4.20% Middle time;time 45.80% Middle Last time; 29.20% Almost all the 20.80% Last time Almost alltime; the time Figure 4: Period of time of doing bad behaviours The chart shows off the number of people who private tasks in the early class hours is the least There is 20.8% of IBD students admitted that they did anything excepted learning almost all the time in class hours However, the highest percentage of learners choosing to private tasks is the middle time of the class hours It is about 46% Likewise, it is interesting to note that IBDers spending last time to private tasks accounts for 29.2% Thus, what are the reasons for the choices'students? The figure for people who did private tasks in the beginning class is little because almost students are still energetic and powerful in start time, they could be determined to study carefully However, The individual work state is increasing at an alarming rate when the class goes through a half part due to loss of interest in their class There is even a bunch of IBers doing private tasks almost all the time II Reasons for students’ bad disciplines The reason of bad attitude of students in class The reason why IBD students have bad discipline in class the lesson sometime make me bored4.20% I don't know4.20% Parents4.20% 54.20% The Internet 37.50% Teacher Facilities 0% 25.00% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 10 Figure 5: The reason why IBD students have bad disciplines in class Page As can be seen on the chart, the highest percentage of studentschosing the Internet is approximately 54% This is followed by the rate of IBDers who think teachers are the cause of the bad behaviours in class, at 37,5% Nowadays, due to the rapid development of technology, many people can access the internet anytime and anywhere Students not concentrate on the lesson in class instead of doing private works during class hours Meanwhile, teachers are the cause why students have bad behavior in class Teachers who teach students, help them become good citizens However, the relationship between teachers and students is getting worse and worse David Harris claimed that If any student feels the teacher not like him/her, he/she will have feeling abandoned, which could make students lose concentration on lesson Many students find difficult to adjusting to lecturers’ teaching style (David.H 2017) 1It is interesting to note that there is only 4.2% IBDers admitted that parents and the lesson sometimes makes their bored Pressure from parents: Pressure from parents 8.31% 20.82% 12.51% 58.36% Almost never FrequentlyAlmost all the time Sometimes Almost all the time Figure 6: Pressure from parents The pie chart gives information about parents often pressure on their children 13 of the 25 participants (58.3%) have to admit that sometimes parents force IBDers, which makes their have bad behaviors in class The findings not support the research hypothesis However, 12.5% people choose that parents pressure frequently on students The proportion of students who have never been pressured make up about 20% 11 It is noticeably that many IBD students experience the stress that their parents create for them Parents always want to give the best for their children such as learning in a prestigious Page university, getting well-paid job However, if children want to achieve success, they have to put much effort and participate in many activities of students could have feeling depressed and bad disciplines in class 1David,H, 2017 What are the causes of classroom discipline problem?.https://classroom.synonym.com/info7964722-causes-classroom-discipline-problems.html Cause of students’bad disciplines Dependence on the report we have given a lot of reason to explain for the bad disciplines of learners Figure 3: Cause of the bad attitudes of students From the chart, it can be seen that the number of people who agree and be normal dislike the teacher is the same (8 people) and of the 25 participants disagree Nowadays, the relationship between students and teacher encounters many differents, teacher could lack enthusiasm and lecture in an inflexible pattern that discourages the lesson Teachers not respect, offend the students by the crude terms Besides, of the 25 responds asked the teacher does not listen to their side of the students, there are 11 people who were neutral and people disagree When a learner misunderstand or confuses the lecturer, the teacher does not listen to them, which could 12 cause the relationship both side that appear signs of fracture The number of students being Page normal that the teacher cannot control them, at people In general, teacher plays a pivotal role in maintaining classroom disciplines Prime Minister Pham Van Dong argued that: ”Teaching is the most noble profession in the noble profession anf is the most creative profession in the creative profession Because it creates creative people “ (Dang Quoc Bao,2016)2 However, according to Uong Ngoc Dau (2017) 3, “in reality, the image of the teacher has become blurred and distorted, of couse, not of the entire society” Consequently, teachers not only not totally pay attention to students but also not maintain classroom discipline, which promotes learners to doing bad attitude in class It is clear that the number of people who agree that playing with friend who has bad behavior is the cause of the bad disciplines more than that of disagree ( people compare people) Moreover, 11 of the 25 participants admited that dislike school is the cause, just step into the school which has a feeling of boredom Likewise, 12 of the 25 responds believed that having problem also is the reason of the bad attitude III The impacts of bad discipline the impact of bad discipline on student life The numbers are statistics in column chart below will show in detail the level of influence of the bad discipline to students life how The impact of bad discipline on student life The result of study is bad 4.2 45.8 All of them 29.2 People always think you are a bad person 20.8 people stay away from you 16.7 People not completely believe you 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 Figure 7: The impact of bad discipline on students life 2PGS.TS Dang QuocBao, 2016 Pham Van profession.http://vietnamnet.vn/vn/tuanvietnam/nghe-day-hoc-nghe-cao-quy-nhat-411891.html VietNam Online Newspaper Look in a general way and the most essential, then all the harmful effects listed here accounted for 45.8% of the total 100% In it, the consequences affect the most to students life is people always think you are a bad person and it also accounted for the highest proportion up to 29.2% Also because they have thought that should lead to they will avoid you and figure 20.8% poor 8.4% compared with 29.2% is the figure shows the difference not significant About thinking you are a bad person or staying away from you then, of course, not completely trust you, it is normal Consequence this just wrapped in 16.7% of Harm ultimately will adversely affect the academic performance of students but this issue is not as important as the human factor, the relationships around so it should achieve percentages as low as 4.2% Other consequences There may be lots of students’s bad disciplines in classrooms nowadays but with the metrics of the cylinder chart below will indicate the specific level of those behaviours other consequences 25 All of them 29.2 Use the mobile/MP3 for playing a game or listening to music 33.3 Lose control behavior such as argue with your teacher 16.7 Makes noises by laughing or talking in class 25 Playing the bully to another people around there 10 15 20 25 30 35 14 Page Figure 8: Bad disciplines lead to serious consequences Topped with a percentage of 33.3% is the highest, the loss of emotional control behaviour of students as arguing for a harshly with the teachers’s actions show lack of respect At the level of a little lighter with 29.2% is for using the mobile or mp3 to play games and listen to music Besides in safety in numbers is 16.7% of not too high or too low which is exposing makes noises by laughing or talking in class almost as familiar and popular discipline The final problem is playing the bully to another people around there, however, not is located approximately in the lowest numbers but at the average level is 25% compared with the level of percent other is pretty reasonable IV Solution At the end of this survey, we would like to give you some solutions to prevent students from behaving badly during class hours Some specific discipline strategies dealing with students behavior Kick you out of class Call your parents Mark your ABSENT for 1-3 hours Give you some Restorative Practices 10 20 30 40 50 60 Figure 9: Solution From the chart, it can be seen that about 60% of IBD students have this kind of punishment in their log book This could probably the most popular discipline strategy in IBD for teachers when the students when they start doing wrong things during class hours Personally, I believe that this is also the most significant measure for the students in general because they tend to attend class for the roll- call Moreover, students also agree that being kick out of the class can be 15 notable for naughty students thus they can not disturb others students to learn Page It is noticeable that almost NEU students not think that call their parents for their behavior at school is a good ideal This can easily be understood because they are adult, they are not kidding anymore, they have their own choices and responsibility and their parents could probably feel annoyed to be called So the main and permanent solution must be given to the teachers and students Therefore, teachers should tell the students the essential of lessons and knowledge so they can push themselve in study mood for the best results in their exams 16 Page Chapter III: Conclusion After nearly third months of study and research through 25 responds, we have summarized some things: The study of IBD students’s attitudes toward bad discipline during class hours is essential It helps learners better understand their responsibility for learning and attitudes in the classroom The results of the survey are evidence to help students identify their shortcoming and make decisions in the presents and future The research find the cause through the manifestations shown by students and the solution From the actual situation of research, the issue of maintaining discipline in classroom should be cared to students in general and IBD intake 14 In addition to the level of achievement of our goal later: Goal 1: Finding the bad attitude of students during class: 90% Goal 2: Finding the bad discipline of students not only the teacher but also others in classroom: 80% Goal 3: Explaining the reason why students have bad discipline in class: 80% Goal 4: Determining the consequences of losing discipline during class hours: 70% Goal 5: Giving the solution: 70% Although we have not accomplished our goal well, we still feel satisfied with the research Page 17 and what we have done References David, H (2017) What Are the Causes of Classroom Discipline Problems? | Synonym [online]
