Warm – up
Before you read
• GAME: NETWORKS
- Asks Ss to work in groups of 3 or 4 and make a list of famous places in Vietnam. (the group with the longest list will be the winner).
- Gathers ideas and asks Ss to work in pairs.
- May hang large pictures on the board so that teacher can help Ss follow easily and keep them interested.
- Calls on some Ss to tell the answers in front of the class.
- Asks Ss to share their background information about these places.
- Has Ss work in pairs, ask and answer the following questions:
• Do you usually have an excursion?
• Where did you last have it?

• What impressed you most?
• What was the most interesting thing that you did on the excursion?

up • GAME: Crossword.
- Gives out a crossword which has 7
horizontal lines and one vertical line. The word in the vertical line is made up of 7 letters from the 7 horizontal lines
- Gives information/ definition of the words in the horizontal lines
- Asks Ss to work in groups and find the words. (each correct word in the horizontal lines gets 10 points and the one in the vertical line gets 40 points)
