The effectiveness of task based language teaching on learning to use grammatical structures a case study

The Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) method is an approach to instructional design in which the emphasis is not on teaching the linguistic elements of the language (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation), but instead on facilitating the use of the language in real-world contexts. The goal is to emphasize communication rather than form. There are five characteristics of a TBLT lesson plan: 1. **An emphasis on learning to communicate through interaction in the target language.** This means that students are given opportunities to use the language in real-world situations, such as role-plays, simulations, and games. 2. **The introduction of authentic texts (teaching materials) into the learning situation.** This means that students are exposed to real-world texts, such as newspaper articles, magazines, and websites, in order to learn how the language is used in context. 3. **The provision of opportunities for learners to focus not only on language but also on the learning process itself.** This means that students are given opportunities to reflect on their own learning and to develop strategies for improving their language skills. 4. **An enhancement of the learner’s own personal experiences as important contributing elements to classroom learning.** This means that students are encouraged to share their own experiences and perspectives in order to make the learning process more relevant and meaningful. 5. **An attempt to link classroom language with language activation outside the classroom.** This means that students are given opportunities to use the language outside of the classroom, such as through homework assignments, projects, and presentations....
