u di n bi ng b bi n áp d ng n b bi n Phan Thi t thu c t nh Bình Thu n vii ABSTRACT The shoreline evolution is the process of erosion - accretion along the coast due to many factors (mainly factors are waves and tides) This process is affecting human life, economy and society A number of coastal erosion prevention measures have been invested and implemented in many places; however the lack of scicentific viewpoints or the inconsistent construction made those measures not achieve the expected effectiveness while being destroyed Currently, scientists have used numerical modeling methods to simulate and forecast shoreline changes to build the scientific foundation for providing solutions to prevent erosion accretion The shoreline of Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city has a North - Northeast direction, with a length of about 16km, belonging to the midpoint of the Mui Ne - Mui Ke Ga coast with two rocky promontories; the area has direction of the WestsouthNortheast and it often gets the resonance between refracted waves (from the rocky promontories) and the main waves (from the seasonal wind blows of direction West, Southwest or East, Northeast) The coast of Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city often has coastal currents in two seasons with opposite directions, it is shown clearly that eroded coastlines in the southwest season are accreted in the east and east seasons At the same time, this geological structure of this area is both weathered rocky-shore and sporadic sand (red sand) The shore receive strongly east wind; however, the coastline is relatively stable, except for a short one at Tien Thanh commune (this area appears to be eroded in the East wind season) Therefore, in recent years, this beach has often occurred the process of erosion accretion and increases more This greatly affects to the lives of local people and businesses Therefore, the objective of the thesis is to apply numerical mathematical model to build the scientific foundation for proposing solutions, measures in oder to prevent coastal erosion in Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province Specific objectives are: to use an integrated model developed by of Yen
