COMMENTS ABSTRACT Working part-time is no longer a small phenomenon; it becomes a trend tied to the academic life and activities of students However, part-time jobs that are often difficult, hard-earned money can be painful to get involved This topic was chosen to find out negative effects of part-time jobs on DIBA seniors thereby helping students minimizing these aspects There were three hundred HUFLIT IBA seniors joined in the online survey Results showed that nearly half of the students strongly agreed that they lacked time for study when they had part-time jobs The study also found the solutions to help seniors balancing between studying and working Hopefully, with recommendations of ten companies offering internships, DIBA seniors may apply for positions which are suitable for Part-time jobs are often tough, hard-earned money can be painful to be part with According to the statistics of the student union, more than 80% of Vietnamese students have at least one part-time job while attending university There is a plenty of different kinds of part-time jobs include jobs in the fast food or restaurant industry, jobs as waiter/receptionist, staffing agencies, teaching assistant, etc Like many university students, HUFLIT IBA seniors take on a part-time job during the senior year of university as the desire for independence Particularly, their decision to work not simply for financial reason to contribute to family expense that they more likely to be happy with the money they got, with many aspects of their lives, their work HUFLIT IBA seniors who earn their own money tend to spend it wisely Moreover, they believed that the early valuable experience gained through the part-time jobs would help them obtain advantage employment prospects and develop skills in the future than those who did not have parttime jobs In general, the part-time job brings many advantages and reinforces what students are learning in university 1.2 Objectives Besides the obvious advantages of going to work, HUFLIT IBA seniors face many other difficulties as well These are direct impacts on students include lacking of time to study, being stressful, no job security and insurance benefit, less chance of receiving promotion, not having time for relations The converse theorem of students "work ahead, study later" seems unreasonable, but when part-time job has caused students cannot attend classes because of too many debts or excessive absenteeism, and then must consider this theorem Students are more attracted to the jobs than learning Students have been swept into the spinning wheel of making money The higher the work intensity, the lower the quality of learning, the learning becomes secondary when the demand for money is too large Another problem is that the intensity of work is inversely proportional to student health The more students work, their healthy is more likely leads to get worse, going to work and therefore they often skip meals Question 15: Would you please provide some corporations have part-time jobs and internships which are suitable for your major? 67 ZALORA 40 Kerry Express 88 Golden Gate 125 Autogrill 50 100 150 PROPOSAL Background and Rationale 1.1 Background HUFLIT IBA seniors’ motivations for working Part-time jobs are the best option and wonderful experience for university students There are a plenty of different kinds of part-time jobs include: jobs in the fast food or restaurant industry, jobs as waiter/receptionist, staffing agencies, teaching assistant, etc Like many university students, HUFLIT IBA seniors having a part-time job during the senior year of university as the desire for independence Moreover, HUFLIT IBA seniors who earn their own money tend to spend it wisely However, when they are not working, they earn no income and experience Part-time jobs are often tough, hard-earned money can be painful to be part with which has two sides, so here are some of the most common negative effects of HUFLIT IBA seniors from having a part-time job Negative effects from having part-time jobs of HUFLIT IBA seniors The senior year of HUFLIT IBA can be extremely a challenge and stressful stage There are just so many things to complete and HUFLIT IBA senior not have enough time for them The lacking of time for studies and increasing stress The HUFLIT IBA seniors are in trouble to finding time to study which can lead to the distraction They are being exhausted and tired of running between the working place and the course in HUFLIT IBA Furthermore, HUFLIT IBA seniors are going to skipped classes to have a sleep after a long day of hard working The lacking of time for preparing the new lesson before class during the semester is nearly impossible to complete the tasks and may discourage HUFLIT IBA seniors from coming to university The homework can be overloaded Moreover, they are stressed with many difficult aspects of their lives The balancing between work and study is too much for HUFLIT IBA seniors As a result, the decrease and drop in their GPAs will happen The time management Have you ever asked yourself like: “How can you get a part-time job if you not know about what the schedule is going to be’’ The schedule of studying is different each week and semester that HUFLIT IBA senior has to select new classes;
