PG-Flex Plus PG-Flex Plus ™ is a revolutionary subscriber carrier platform that enables the cost-effective deployment of multiple voice and data services over single- or dual-pair DSL transport technology. The PG-Flex Plus system is comprised of a central office terminal (COT) shelf, 4 or 6 line PG-Plus® NIDs, a 24/48 line PG-Flex® remote enclosure and an optional Universal Access Platform (UAP) GR-303 concentrator shelf. This system can be used in a variety of applications that will enable more efficient use of network facilities, including copper pair relief, POTS and data service extensions over unconditioned pairs and support for future growth (HDSL2 transport and ADSL G.Lite service). PG-Flex Plus central office equipment has been designed with a digital (DS1) switch interface. This interface can be provisioned as TR-08/D4 for incumbent networks or GR-303 for developing networks. Either way, PG-Flex Plus operating in integrated mode offers a number of unique benefits. Since PG-Flex Plus provides a digital interface to the switch, the need for expensive analog equipment in the CO is unnecessary. Additional wire costs are reduced as a result of the elimination of analog connections. Features: Integrated Mode Operation • Support for 56 kbps modems • Deployment flexibility • Lower first-cost deployment • Reduced installation costs ADC Telecommunications, Inc., P.O. TR-08 and GR-303 Support: PG-Flex Plus is capable of supporting D4, TR-08 and GR-303 modes of operation. Line units on the PG-Flex Plus access shelf are designed for direct TR-08 connectivity into the switch. The optional UAP concentrator is used in conjunction with PG-Flex Plus access shelves for industry-standard GR-303 connectivity. The UAP provides all the benefits associated with GR-303 such as dynamic bandwidth allocation and DS0 concentration. Deployment Flexibility: Since PG-Flex Plus central office equipment is environmentally hardened, it can also be deployed out in the network subtending DS1 tributaries from high-speed muxes or fiber-based terminals. As a result, pair gain can be achieved further into the network. Integrated PG-Flex Plus line units are also available that can be retrofitted into standard T1 repeater housing mechanics. . of the elimination of analog connections.
