Giống tuyến trùng biển Dorylaimopsis được thiết lập năm 1918, cho đến nay ở các hệ sinh thái cửa sông, rừng ngập mặn, biển ven bờ và ở vùng biển sâu, 27 loài thuộc giống này đã được mô tả; trong số đó 11 loài được mô tả, công bố từ các hệ sinh thái biển Biển Đông (Việt Nam) và vùng biển liền kề (Biển Đông).
