TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’S ACTIVITIES I Warm-up

- Prepare sets of cards

-Get two groups of six students to rearrange these words into correct sentences The winner is the group who

arranges the correct sentence the fastest will receive a gift II New lesson

1 Listen and repeat

- Have students identify characters in the pictures by asking some questions:

Who are they?

What are they doing?

- Play the CD for students to repeat the dialogue.(twice) - Get students to practice the dialogue

2 Look and say

- Have students look at the book (p22)

- Get students to identify the characters in the pictures and say their names

-Tell students to guess and to respond to the first

character Then fill the speech bubbles with the correct

- Play in group

3.Write

- Get students to identify the characters in the pictures by Pointing to each character and asking question:

- Have students read individually and complete the sentences ( monitor and help ss if necessary)

- Ask some students read their answers aloud - Check the students’ answers

4 Let’s sing

- Play the CD for ss to listen while they are reading the song, clap the rhythm

- Ask ss to sing the song while teacher claps the rhythm then exchange: + teacher claps the rhythm

- Group work: Ss practice saying and miming the rhythm in groups (monitor and offer help)

- Call on some groups to perform the rhythm at the front of the class The rest of the class sings along -Have the whole class sing the song, clapping the rhythm again to reinforce their pronunciation III Summary

In this lesson, ss have learnt to use greetings phrases in communicative skill
