- Ask one student to write down new words - Ask one student to answer some questions

1 What does Hoa’s father ? What does Hoa’s mother ? - Check & give marks

- Write down new words - Answer some questions

2 Presentation: (10’)

Task 1: Pre-teach vocabulary : - Elicit to teach vocabulary

+ (to) take care of : chăm sóc ( Explanation ) + sick (adj) : yếu ( Antonym : # strong ) + primary school (n) : trường TH ( Example ) + journalist (n) : phóng viên ( Explanation ) + (to) write for : viết cho ( Translation ) + elder brother (n) : anh trai ( Explanation ) + high school (n) : trường THCS ( Example ) + magazine (n) : tạp chí ( Explanation )

Task 2: Revision Simple present:

- Ask Ss to revise Simple present :

Eg : He is 20 He is a journalist He works in Ha Noi

- Listen to the words

- Repeat the words in chorus & in individual

- Give the meanings & the pronunciation

- Copy the words

- Revise Simple present

3 Practice: (20’)

Task 1: Comprehension questions

- Show pictures (p 34) & ask Ss some questions Who are they in the picture ?

- Introduce : This is Lan’s family - Ask Ss to read the text silently - Ask Ss to answer questions ( p.35 ) - Call on some Ss

- Give keys & check Ss’ answers

Task 2: Matching

- Answer some questions from the teacher

- Read the text silently - Work in groups

- Give answers before the class Eg : Hoa’s father is a doctor He

- ask Ss to match half- sentences in pairs to make correct definitions about occupations
