a Trước khẳng định, sau phủ định ngược lại
Peter helped you, didn’t he? He isn’t here now, is he? You have been there for a long time, haven’t you?
b Note:
- Không dùng danh từ riêng câu hỏi đuôi, mà phải dung đại từ nhân xưng thay thế. Mary is beautiful, isn’t she?
Chứ không dùng Mary is beautiful, isn’t Mary? His parents are old, aren’t they?
- Khi chủ từ mệnh đề anyone, anybody, no one, no body, none, neither thì chủ từ câu hỏi they.
No one knows, they? Neither of them complaint, did they?
- Nếu mệnh đề có từ phủ định neither, no, none, no one, no body, nothing,
scarely, barely, hardly, seldom … câu hỏi đuôi thể khẳng định.
Nothing was sold, was it? Peter hardly goes to the party, does he? - Nếu chủ từ this, that chủ từ câu hỏi it, he, she. Ex: That is a very interesting film, isn’t it?
That is your new boy friend, isn’t he? This is a very beautiful girl, isn’t she?
- Nếu chủ từ these, those chủ từ câu hỏi đuôi they Ex: These books are new, aren’t they?
- Hình thức câu hỏi I am … aren’t I? hay am I not? Ex: I’m late, aren’t I? (Hay: I’m late, am I not?) - Hình thức câu yêu cầu là: will you?
- Câu đề nghị là: shall we?
Come in, will you? Don’t that, will you?
Let’s go for a walk, shall we? Let’s not study now, shall we? Special:
- Let’s + V(-to), shall we ? Eg: Let’s go out, shall we? - (Please +) V(-to) , will you ? (Câu mệnh lệnh) Don’t speak, will you - I am ……, aren’t I ?
- This / That (is ……), (isn’t) it/he/she ? Eg: This is your boy, isn’t he?
- These / Those (are ……), (aren’t) they ? Those are your cats, aren’t they ? - There is / are ……, isn’t / aren’t there ?
- Nobody / No one + V(khẳng định) …, auxi / modal (phủ định) they ? Eg: Noone went out, did they?
- S + never / rarely / seldom / no longer……,VERB (+) + S ? Eg: David rarely goes out, does he?
- Everyone /everybody/ someone/ ………,……….they ? Eg: Everyone is at home, aren’t they?
- Everything/ something/ , it ?
