ZIM Academic English School Bài mẫu The argument over the use of animals to provide food, medicine, and clothing has been ongoing for years Some people consider the killing of animals to produce food and other products to be unnecessary In my view, I agree with this idea and will discuss several compelling reasons in this essay These days, we are faced with many public health challenges regarding poor health conditions, including cancer and heart disease, caused by excessive consumption of meat on a regular and long-term basis Experts are calling for a change in human diets so that people can enjoy better health Fortunately, many alternative meat products are available on the market In fact, vegetarian diets are being favored by a growing number of people and can provide the same amount of nutrients for consumers In particular, mushrooms and tofu contain high levels of protein, a kind of nutrient presumably only found in meat, and can therefore be used as a substitute Furthermore, medical experiments on animals and medicines manufactured from animals’ body parts received little endorsement in the past Nowadays, herbs and many other types of plant-based medicines, such as ginseng, can cure many diseases, prolong human life expectancy, and aid medical practitioners in the treatment of many illnesses More seriously, thousands of wild animals, such as tigers and minks, are killed each year, with their fur taken to produce coats and accessories for the fashion industry There are now similar products made from plants and artificial materials that can fulfill our needs Animals not have to suffer for our needs anymore In conclusion, I think that our needs and desires not justify the suffering of animals and animal products are no longer necessary We can choose a different source of nourishment, medicine and clothing without any toll on wild animals (300 từ) Estimated Overall Band Score: 8.5 TR 9.0 CC 8.0 ZIM Academic English School - Today I’m going to talk about a law that I find very effective in my country It is about banning people from throwing garbage in public places A few days ago, I heard the news broadcast on VTV1 Channel that this law had been enacted after the Environmental Protection Conference last month It says that no one is allowed to litter in public sites, especially tourist attractions If anyone is caught throwing rubbish in such places, he or she must pay a fine of about million to million VND, which is a huge amount of money In case a person is reported to have broken the law, the one who reported may receive a bonus of million, of course, with proper evidence only After this law came into force and some people were reported The strict punishment and strong criticism from the media as well have discouraged citizens from throwing rubbish everywhere they went Also, the stunning views and natural landscapes of some famous tourist attractions in Vietnam have been protected There are also fewer complaints from tourists about so much litter such as used cans and bottles appearing on the beach And the most important thing is citizens’ awareness of protecting the environment has greatly improved That’s all I want to share! Gợi ý: Thông thạo luật lệ, có tư phê phán, có long vị tha (altruism) I think there are many essential characteristics of a good judge First, a judge should be fair Because he is the representative of justice, I suppose fairness is the first quality that matters Besides, he needs to be wise to apply the laws properly and suitably according to different cases Sometimes, it’s important that the judge understands the real story behind what is told What are the necessary qualities for someone to become a lawyer? Gợi ý: Thông thạo luật lệ, có tư phê phán, có tài ăn nói đối chấp, có khả thuyết phục đám đơng In my opinion, a lawyer needs to be honest and have a deep understanding of the laws To be more specific, a lawyer should always provide the exact information on their clients’ situation, then give them the best advice on what they should A lawyer also needs to understand the law thoroughly so that he can protect his clients’ rights or reduce the severity of their sentences Are there any circumstances that the law should be broken? Gợi ý: Đối với tình khẩn cấp liên quan đến mạng người người có hồn cảnh khó khăn khơng may phạm luật lần đầu I think in some cases, the law can be broken For example, in my country, it is against the law to run a red light, but ambulances are allowed to so So I think that it is necessary to violate the traffic laws if a person is carrying a patient whose life is being threatened Từ vựng The representative of justice: Đại diện công lý To run a red light: Vượt đèn đỏ Estimated Overall Band Score: 8.0 FC 8.0 P 8.0 LR 8.0 GRA 8.0 https://zim.vn/ - ZIM Academic English School 25 12/01 19 Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news However, others believe that they can get news better through another media Discuss both views and give your opinion? ZIM Academic English School 31 Bài mẫu Opinions diverge widely on the importance of different news sources While some people consider reading newspapers to be the most effective way to receive news, I would argue that it is no longer the best way to get the news thanks to the proliferation of online news sources On the one hand, there are good grounds for arguing that newspapers still hold the most popular position among newsreaders even though we are living in a digital world Firstly, since newspapers have existed long before the introduction of the internet, most senior citizens have developed a habit of reading a newspaper every day, and they not want to change this habit Secondly, newspapers are considered a more reliable source of information compared to other sources nowadays This is because newspapers are usually written by professional journalists, and are thoroughly checked, edited and censored prior to their publication On the other hand, the Internet has become an increasingly dominant news source these days due to the benefits it offers The first thing that attracts people to reading news online is its easy access With the widespread presence of the Internet, people with portable devices, such as a smartphone, can access a huge storage of news in just a few clicks Furthermore, online news channels have brought a greater reading experience to readers, thanks to the constant advancement in technology, which has made it possible to upload videos and audio recordings online For instance, soccer fans these days can re-watch their favourite matches whenever they want with only a laptop connected to the Internet, which a mere newspaper cannot In conclusion, while raising the legal driving age can make our roads safer to some extent, I believe that governments should also introduce other road safety measures that are discussed above (310 từ) Estimated Overall Band Score: 8.0 TR 8.0 32 CC 8.0 ZIM Academic English School - When I was growing up, I guess blue was my favourite colour I don’t know why, but I always really liked things that were dark blue These days though, I tend to have a preference for green things So I suppose green and blue are the colours that I like most Did you like that colour when you were small? As I mentioned, I always liked dark blue when I was young, but green is something that I started to like just couple of years ago Is the colour of your car or motorbike important? Why? Yes, and no I mean, I don’t really care what colour it is; however, I wouldn’t really like to have a pink motorbike Pink is a little bit too feminine for me These days I have a black motorbike, which I think is a good colour for it https://zim.vn/ - ZIM Academic English School 35 Morning routine What you in the morning? So normally I like to wake up around 7am, have a light breakfast, and some household chores, like wash the dishes or sweep the floor, or something like that Then I usually some exercise for an hour or two and have a second breakfast at about 9.30 After that, I have some spare time to other things, like my hobbies, or some other things that I need to get done Have your ever changed your routine? Of course I mean, my routine depends on my work These days I work as an English teacher which requires me to work in the afternoon and evening, so I have plenty of free time in the morning But in the past I used to have a nine-to-five job, so my routine was completely different then Do you often have breakfast? Yeah, every day My brain can’t function properly without a good breakfast In fact, as I mentioned before, I usually have two breakfasts, a light breakfast when I wake up, and then a bigger breakfast around or 10am I don’t know how people live without breakfasts Từ vựng Feminine: nữ tính A light breakfast: bữa sáng nhẹ Household chores (wash the dishes, sweep the floor): việc nhà Nine-to-five job: công việc truyền thống (làm từ sáng đến chiều) 36 ZIM Academic English School - https://zim.vn/ Part Describe an interesting old person • Who was the person • How you met that person • Where you met him or her And explain why you find them interesting? The old person that I find interesting that I would like to tell you about is my grandma Actually, she died a few years ago but she was a very inspiring person My earliest memories of her are probably from when I was about or years old, because before that I didn’t live with my grandparents so I didn’t see them very often There are many reasons why I think she was very interesting Firstly, she grew up in Australia during a time when men and women did not have equal rights, especially in terms of salary, and she used to work in a leather factory and she knew that she was good at her job, better than a lot of the men in the factory So one day, she demanded that her boss pay her the same wage as her male colleagues because she was better than a lot of them This was a brave thing to and her boss gave her a raise I think this is a good example of her personality actually She was an honest and fair person, she worked hard and she expected to be paid fairly She always really loved to live in old houses in the countryside and filled them with all sorts of antiques and lots of interesting gadgets, so it was quite fascinating for me and my brothers to visit her house when we were young Secondly, my grandmother was a real individual She loved to play video games even when she was 60 years old, and she used to ride a big motorcycle and she had some tattoos on her arms, which was very uncommon for a woman her age But my brothers and I thought she was really cool She was also a very talented artist as well She painted many beautiful paintings, and learnt to play the piano when she was about 65 And because of these things, my grandmother is someone I really admired Từ vựng Earliest memories: kỉ niệm Equal rights: quyền bình đẳng To be a real individual: Độc đáo không giống https://zim.vn/ - ZIM Academic English School 37 Part Can old and young people share the same interests? Gợi ý: Có → interest khơng u cầu nhiều thể lực (physically-demanding): thể thao trí tuệ (cờ vua) , đọc sách (reading), chụp ảnh (photography) Không → clubbing , thể thao nặng thể lực (soccer), công nghệ (technology) Yes of course There are many interests that young and old people share For example, many young and old people like to play the same sports, such as badminton, or the same games, like chess It really just depends on each person’s personalities What can old people teach the youth? Gợi ý: trải nghiệm sống/bài học sống  cách vượt qua khó khăn  câu truyện chiến tranh, thiếu tiền, thiếu thức ăn Một vài kĩ định ; thêu (sewing), trồng (planting) Well, I suppose there are plenty of things the older generations can teach the youth For example, older people usually have a lot of life experience and have learnt a lot of important life lessons which they can teach younger people about In Vietnam, most older people experienced a lot of hardships in their lives when they were young, because the country was involved in a lot of wars, and many people didn’t have jobs or money or even food, so they had to learn to survive and overcome those difficult times Most kids these days don’t have to deal with anything like that, so there are many things they could learn from their elders What can young people teach the old? Gợi ý: thứ liên quan đến công nghệ (how to use mobile phone or computer), cởi mở (open-minded), hoạt động động (active activities) Well, I guess the first thing that springs to mind is about how to use technology Many older people tend to be living behind the times so they tend to have a hard time learning how to use modern computers and other devices, like smartphones and so on, so that’s one thing they can learn from the youth Also, I guess many older people still hold on to some traditional beliefs and customs, some of which are a bit out-dated, while the youth are usually in the know when it comes to modern ways of living and more modern views and opinions about certain aspects of life So I guess both generations have something to learn from each other 38 ZIM Academic English School - https://zim.vn/ Từ vựng Life experience: trải nghiệm sống Important life lessons: học sống quan trọng Springs to mind: nảy đầu Behind the times: lạc hậu Have a hard time: gặp khó khăn Traditional beliefs and customs: Niềm tin phong tục truyền thống Out-dated: lạc hậu, lôi thời In the know: hiểu biết điều Estimated Overall Band Score: 8.0 FC 8.0 Grandma P 8.0 LR Dad 8.0 Mom GRA 8.0 Grand pa Me ty Skit Bo bby ...
