Lesson 3 I Objectives:

1 Knowledge: After the lesson, Ss will be able to review the sound of the letter O, four O words and recognize the corresponding pictures, write the letter O

2 Skills: listening, speaking, writing Attitude: Ss like studying English

- S: Le Ngoc Linh and Hoang Ngoc Tuan know the letter O II Teaching aids:

T: Pictures, books, flash card SS: Ss’ book, activity book III Method: MAT, TPA. IV.Procedure:

1 Organization: (1’) -Greeting

- Check absent students

Warm up (5’)

Play the song from Lesson (Track 06), ask students to sing along and corresponding actions

*Activity 1: Thumbs Up or Down (5 mins) - T;Ask the students to close their books - T:Hold up the phonics cards one at a time

- T:Ask the students to verify the word the teacher says by putting their thumbs up or down

*Activity (7’)

- T;Ask Ss to take out their colour pencils/ crayons - T:Name some colours and ask the students to

repeat

- Ss: name the picture

- T:Use the structure: “I like…” and ask the students hold up the colour pencils/ crayons they like

- T:Show the picture in the book to the whole class - T:Point to the orange and say: an orange

- T:Have the students say the word and colour it

- Ss: colour the pictures

- T:Give the students minutes to circle the pictures that have Oo in them

- Ss circle the pictures

- T:Go around the classroom asking the students to say the o words they are colouring

*Activity (8’) (Track 13)

- T:Show the Ss the omelette phonics card Point to it and say: // - omelette Ask them to repeat.

- Ss: read in chorus

- T:Mime cracking and beating eggs and say: // - omelette Encourage the Ss to the same

- T:Point to the pictures, Ss corresponding actions and say the words

- Ss: so the action

*:Activity 4: (10’) Craftwork

- T;Ask Ss to take out their notebook then ask them to choose one word the draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks

- Ss: write on their notebook

- T:Tell them to colour the letter and the picture - Ss :colour the letter and picture

- The Ss who finish will show their picture to the class

- Show the phonics cards, ask students to corresponding actions then say the sound of the letter and words

- T:Write on the board the big O and small o - T:Point to the letter O and say out loud

- T;Demonstrate how to write the big O by stroke - Ss: look at the board
