(1)Pre : 10.03.2013 Tea: 18.03.2013 UNIT 13: FILMS AND CINEMA B SPEAKING Week: 10 Period: 83 I/ OBJECTIVES: Educational aim: To help Students will be able to - Ask and answer questions about the plot of a film based on prompts - Express their opinions about a film, using attitudinal adjectives Knowledge: answer questions about the plot of a film Skills: Tell what kinds of film they like and dislike II/ METHOD: Mainly communication III/ TEACHING AIDS: Textbook, handouts, some film posters IV/ PROCEDURES Checking attendance The new lesson Contents Teacher’s & Students’ activities WARM UP (5’) Cartoon T: Asks Sts to name as many kinds of film as they can T: Writes them on the board T: Helps Sts with new words if necessary Detective Films PRESENTATION (5’) “What kind of the film in the picture?” * Suggested Answers: - It is cartoon film - It is horror film - It is detective film - T: Shows the pictures of various kinds of film and asks Sts PRACTICE TASK 1: (5’) “How much you like ?” T: Asks Sts to look at the chart carefully and then put a tick in the right column T: May ask Sts the question T: Asks Sts to compare their answers with a partner’s TASK 2: (10’) Find out what your friends feel about each kind of film Use the words in the table + moving (adj) causing strong feelings, especially of sadness + good fun (Translation) + violent (adj) using physical strength to hurt or kill sb; caused by this behaviour + terrifying (adj) (Translation) + thriller (n) a play, film, book, etc with a very exciting story, often about crime Lop10.com T: Asks Sts to explain the meanings of the given words in the box T: Asks Sts to work in groups of three T: Asks Sts to read the model given (2) Model: A What you think of horror film?
