(1)Lesson plan Date of preparation: Date of teaching: Period: Unit 14: recreation Lesson 4: Writing A- Aims: Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - write a description of a camping holiday, using the structures and vocabulary available as suggestions Teaching aids: - Blackboard, chalk, - Textbook, lesson plan B- Procedure: Time Teacher’s activities Learners’ activities - The monitor reports the I Organization: number of students in his/her - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to class to the teacher make some class arrangement mins II Checking the old lesson: - T calls Ss to complete the sentences on the board using the suggestions + I/ like/ swim/ weekends// + camping/ enjoyable activity/free time// + - T gives comments and marks III New lesson: 4mins 1- Warm- up: - T gives some questions then asks Sts to answer them What you in your free time? Do you want to go camping when you have some days off? - T leads Ss to the new lesson 10mins Preparing Ss to write: - T asks Ss to open the textbook - T gets Ss to read the activities silently and work out which activity matches with which picture - T asks Ss to work in pairs doing the matching - T calls on some Ss to the matching orally - T checks the answer with the whole class - T asks Ss to have a look at the pictures one more to understand more - T may provide Ss with some new words if necessary Lop11.com - complete - answer the T’s questions - open the textbook - read the task - doing the matching - listen to the T and take notes - listen to the T and copy down the new words and structures (2) 20mins Writing: - write their own draft - T gets Ss to plan their description according to the - exchange in pairs suggestions at their desk, then compare and check with a peer - T goes around to check and offer help - listen - T collects some outlines and provides corrective - listen and take notes feedback T provides more relevant vocabulary and structures if necessary - T gets Ss to write their own description in 10 - write the description minutes - exchange in pairs - T then gets Ss to exchange their descriptions in pairs and peer correction - T goes around to offer help - listen - T chooses one description and reads it to the class while other one S writes on the board - T elicits corrective feedback from the class and - take notes gives final comments afterwards T should draw Ss’ attention to the format of the description, the organisation of the ideas and language use 4mins IV- Consolidation: - answer the T’s questions - T interviews Ss the following questions to check their comprehension: + Can you give out the verb tenses and phrases used to write a description? + What notes did you take when writing a description of a camping holiday?
