(1)Week: 09 Period: 27 Unit 5: Illiteracy A- Reading I- objectives: Aim: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand about the programme of "Universalisation of Primary Education " and "Illiteracy Eradication" in Vietnam work of this programme and their information so that they can aware of the importance of studying in their ages themselves , and get more information , words and structures to talk about the illiteracy work , - Develop such reading micro-skills as scanning for specific ideas and skimming for specific ideas, identifying main ideas, and identifying meaning in context - Use the information they have read to discuss illiteracy issues Lexical items: Words/ phrases related to illiteracy work like universalisation, illiterate, illiteracy eradication, Structures: II Teaching aids: pictures, textbook, chalk III Anticipated problems: Students may need help with the discussion task VI- Procedures: 1- Organization: - Greeting and checking the sts’ attendance 2- Checking the old lesson: 3- New lesson Teacher’ s acts Students’ acts Content Sup - Instruct the game - Work in pairs *Warm-up: guessing game and Shark attact the word “Illiteracy” I.Pre-reading: - Follow the steps to - Guess the new 1.Pre-teach vocabulary: present new words words - a campaign (n) - Read - ethnic minority (n) - Copy - voluntarily (adv) - to decrease (v) 2.Going through the pictures: - Give the questions - The whole class *Questions: -Run through -Think and answer a Who comes to attend this class? - Feedback b Where are they? - Correct if necessary c What are they doing? d What kind of textbook are they learning? e Is this class held in the day time/ the evening?
