Unit 8: OUR WORLD HERITAGE SITES Lesson: Reading

“Ha Long Bay"

Class: 11B4, Size: 40 Students Date of preparation: 22/2/2019 Time : 45 minutes Date of teaching : 26/2/2019 School: Gia Hội High School

Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

- Use words and phrases related to Ha Long Bay Heritage, tourist, travel… naturally and fluently

- Have more knowledge about Ha Long Bay- a World Heritage Site of Viet Nam, some attractive points here

- Improve the skill to read for general ideas and for specific information - Practice working in pair and groups

A Preparations:

 Teacher: Handouts, textbooks, pictures, posters  Students: Textbooks, notebooks

B Teaching Aids: white board, pictures, marker pens, projector. C Methods:

The whole lesson is integrated and mainly communicative D Anticipated problems and Solutions:

Anticipated problems:

 Ss might be shy and afraid of making mistakes during the lesson Even, they not want to work in groups or pairs

 Ss can feel difficult to the tasks related to the topic (Ss not understand the questions and vocabulary clearly, or they not know what to do)

 Ss might not understand what T says and use mother tongue in the class  Ss might not pay attention to the topic introduced because they don’t feel

interested

Solutions

 T should go around, monitor and encourage Ss in speaking or doing the work arrangement

 T tries to give the explanations and instructions as clearly as possible  T should give some interesting games to attract Ss’ attention

 T should prepare other materials carefully to solve some unexpected troubles (For example: the projector does not work, or it is not enough time for students all the task in the textbook).
