UNIT 13: WHERE’S MY BOOK ?

LESSON : PART 1,2,3

Class : 4A, 4B

Date of teaching: 1/3, 2/3/2017

I Aim: By the end of the lesson,Ss will be able to practice writing and chanting II.Language contents:

a.Vocabulary: No

b.Sentence pattern: Revision: Where's the book? It's here/ It's there

Where are the chairs? They're near the table c Skill: listening , speaking and writing

III.Techniques: Rub out and remember IV Resource and teaching aids:

- Resource: Book page 22

- Teaching aids: Cassette, pictures, extra paper V.Procedure:

1 Warm-up( minutes)

- Spend a few minutes revising the previous: under, near, on, behind 2 Presentation:(10 minutes).

@ Review the sentence pattern: Where's the book? It's here/ It's there

Where are the chairs? They're near the table 3 Practice:(13 minutes)

1- Listen and repeat.

Play the CD and have ss repeat each line of the chant Then change the role

Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words chair and where -Introduce the sounds /ch/ and /wh/

-Have ss practice the sounds carefully

-Play the CD and have ss read the chant in chorus

Do choral repetition of the words and sentences until ss feel confident ` 2 - Listen and write.

Tell pupils that they are going to read and complete the sentences Give s a few seconds to look at the pictures and read the text in silence Check comprehension and explain the new vocabulary, if necessary Get ss to work in pairs

- Give ss time to the task

- ss swap and check their answer before checking as a class

- Call individually ss to read the text aloud *Key : 1.where 2.chair

4 Personalization:(6 minutes) 3- Let's chant.

- Give ss a few seconds to read the chant in silence Check comprehension and give feedback Read each line of the chant and have pupils repeat it a few times Show ss how to say the chant and the actions

- Play the recording a few times for ss to choral and individual repetition

- Get ss to sit face to face and pratise chanting and doing the actions Go around to offer help, if necessary

- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and the actions while the rest of the class claps along to the rhythm

5 Homework:(1 minute) - Learn by heart: sentences

- Prepare: Unit 13(cont): Lesson 3: page 23 VI.Comments:

write the bedroom

II.Language contents:

b.Sentence pattern: Revision: There is a table / There are two chairs c Skill: reading and writing

III.Techniques: No

IV Resource and teaching aids: - Resource: Book page 23

- Teaching aids: pictures, extra paper

V.Procedure: 1 Warm-up( minutes)

4- Read and tick (page 23)

T explains the situation and how to the exercise

-Ask students to read the paragraph and choose the suitable picture

-Work in groups to the exercise then explain how to choose the picture in front of the whole class The rest listen to and give the remark

-Correct the pronunciation

-Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the reading text Answers: picture c.

Ss read the sentences individually and the exercise Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction

Call on some Ss to report their answers Others listen and comment Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences

*Example:

You: Look! This is a picture of my bedroom

Your friend: It's nice Tell me about the things in your room You: OK., there's a table and two chairs.

Your friend: What about books and posters?

You: There's a poster on the wall and there are three books on the table

4 Personalization:(6 minutes)

6- Project (page 23)

- Tell pupils that they are going to draw and colour their houses, label the rooms and finally present pictures to the class Get ss to prepare necessary school things to carry out the project ( coloured pencils, etc.)

- Give ss time to the project in class Get ss to work in groups Go around to offer help, if necessary If there is not enough time, ask ss to the project as homework

- Call a fewss to the front of the class to show their pictures and describe them

5 Homework:(1 minute)

- Learn by heart: sentences - Prepare: Unit 14 page 24
