CÂU ĐIỀU KIỆN

Câu điều kiện loại câu sử dụng thông dụng phổ biến tiếng Anh, bao gồm: câu điều kiện loại 0, loại 1, loại 2, loại

Trong học cô giáo chia sẻ cho em đầy đủ công thức, cách dùng phân biệt cho câu điều kiện với tập để em rèn luyện nắm kiến thức lý thuyết câu điều kiện Hi vọng học giúp ích cho em nâng cao trình độ tiếng Anh hiệu nhé!

Câu điều kiện dùng để nêu lên giả thiết việc, mà việc có thể xảy điều kiện nói đến xảy Câu điều kiện gồm có hai phần (hai mệnh đề):

 Mệnh đề nêu lên điều kiện (còn gọi mệnh đề IF) mệnh đề phụ hay mệnh đề điều kiện

 Mệnh đề nêu lên kết mệnh đề Ví dụ: If it rains - I will stay at home

Loại Công thức

0 If + S + V(s,es), S+ V(s,es)/câu mệnh lệnh

* Câu điều kiện loại (zero) có động từ hai mệnh đề thường

Cách sử dụng: Điều kiện diễn tả thói quen, thật hiển nhiên

Câu điều kiện loại dùng để diễn tả thực tế (facts), thực (general truths), thói quen (habits) kiện thường xuyên (common events)

 [Thực tế – facts] If you mix blue and red, you get purple

 [Sự thực – general truths] If I ask her to come with us, she always says no

 [Thói quen – habit] If I go to bed early, I always get up very early

Lưu ý:

 Với loại câu điều kiện này, thay “if” “when” “whenever”

When you put a paper on fire, it burns quickly He reads book whenever he has free time

 Mệnh đề điều kiên (mệnh đề có If) mệnh đề kết quả, đảo vị trí cho

nhau mà khơng thay đổi ý nghĩa câu

If I make a silly mistake, I laugh (Nếu mắc phải lỗi sai ngớ ngẩn đó, tơi thường tự cười mình.)

I laugh, if I make a silly mistake (Tơi thường tự cười mình, tơi mắc phải lỗi sai ngớ ngẩn đó.)

don’t/doesn’t + V,

=>Dạng đảo: Should + S1 + V… , S2 + will/can/ +(not) + V **Cách sử dụng:

Điều kiện xảy tương lai (Câu điều kiện loại cịn gọi câu điều kiện có thật Ta sử dụng câu điều kiện loại để đặt điều kiện thực tương lai nêu kết có thể xảy ra.)

VD1: You will be sick if you don’t stop eating <=> You’ll be sick unless you stop eating

3 VD2: I won’t pay if you don’t provide the goods immediately

=> I won’t pay unless you provide the goods immediately

***mệnh đề IF dùng đơn, mệnh đề dùng tương lai đơn VD3: If the weather is nice, I will go swimming tomorrow

VD4: If I find her address, I’ll send her an invitation => I will send her an invitation if I find her address.)

2 If + S1 + were+ (not) + C, S2 + would/could +(not) + V V(ed/p1),

didn’t + V,

=>Dạng đảo: Were + S1 + C… , S2 + would/could +(not) + V Were + S1 + to +V ,

**Cách sử dụng: Điều kiện khơng có thật (câu điều kiện trái với thực tế tại)

VD1: If he weren’t very ill, he would be at work => Unless he were very ill, he would be at work  Weren’t he very ill, he would be at work

VD2: I wouldn’t eat that food if I weren’t really hungry

=> I wouldn’t eat that food unless I were really hungry  Were I really hungry, I wouldn’t eat that food

VD3: If I studied hard, I could get good grades this exam

 Were I to study hard, I could get good grades this exam **Lưu ý: To be: were / weren't

VD4: If I were you, I would follow her advice

- If I had a million USD, I would buy a new house ⇐ tơi khơng có (hình thức chia động từ giống hệt khư đơn, riêng động từ “to be”

thì dùng “were” cho tất ngôi.)

3 If + S1 + had+(not) + V_ed/p2, S2 + would/could+(not) + have + Ved/p2 =>Dạng đảo:

4 Điều kiện khơng có thật q khứ (một giả thiết trái ngược với thực trạng khứ.)

VD1: I wouldn’t have phoned him if you hadn’t suggested it => I wouldn’t have phoned him unless you’d suggested it =>Hadn’t you suggested it, I wouldn’t have phoned him

VD2: They would have shot her if she hadn’t given them the money => They would have shot her unless she’d given them the money VD3: If I had studied the lessons, I could have answered the questions VD4: If I had not broken my leg, I would have taken part in the contest =>động từ mệnh đề điều kiện chia khứ phân từ, động từ mệnh đề chia điều kiện hoàn thành (perfect conditional)

Cách sử dụng:

Câu điều kiện Hỗn hợp (Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp mix loại câu điều kiện với nhau)

VD1: If she hadn't stayed up late last night, she wouldn't be so tired now VD2: If I were you, I would have learned English earlier

Lưu ý: Hai mệnh đề câu điều kiện đổi chỗ cho được: mệnh đề đứng trước hai mệnh đề khơng cần dấu phẩy, ngược lại phải có dấu phẩy

Ví dụ: You will pass the exam if you work hard => If you work hard, you will pass the exam

***Những trường hợp khác câu điều kiện: a Unless = If not (Trừ phi, không)

Ví dụ: If you don't study hard, you can't pass the exam = Unless you work hard, you can't pass the exam

Chú ý sử dụng cấu trúc Unless

a1)Sau Unless câu khẳng định

Bản thân Unless đã mang nghĩa phủ định, khơng sử dụng câu phủ định sau unless Khi câu trở thành hai lần phủ định vô nghĩa Example: Unless you don’t study, you will fail (????)

a2) Unless giống If, không sử dụng will/would sau Unless I hear from you, I’ll see you at two o’clock Not: Unless I’ll hear from you …

a3) Cấu trúc Not unless

Not unless thì lại có nghĩa giống với cấu trúc Only if và mang nghĩa là: Chỉ

Vd:

“Shall I tell Liz what happened? (Tơi có nên nói với Liz đã xảy ra) Not unless she asks you = Only if she asks you (Chỉ cô hỏi bạn)

b Cụm Từ đồng nghĩa: Suppose / Supposing (giả sử như), in case (trong trường hợp), even if (ngay khi, cho dù), as long as, so long as, provided (that), on condition (that) (miễn là, với điều kiện là) thay cho if trong câu điều kiện

Ví dụ: Supposing (that) you are wrong, what will you then?

c Without: khơng có

Ví dụ Without water, life wouldn't exist = If there were no water, life wouldn't exist

****Sự biến đổi câu a Unless if… not (trừ khi) Unless/ If… not + clause VD:

You will be late for dinner unless you hurry => You will be late for dinner if you don’t hurry ( Nếu bạn ko làm gấp, bạn trễ bữa cơm) b Cấu trúc 1:

Diễn tả việc xảy khứ, có kết Ta có cấu trúc: If + S + past perfect, S + would + V

VD:

If Jim hadn’t missed the plane, he would be here by now ( Jim trễ chuyến bay)

c Cấu trúc với SHOULD

Sau IF, diễn tả việc khó xảy Ta dùng: If + S + should + V, clause

VD:

If you should see Ann, could you ask her to call me? ( Tôi không mong đợi bạn gặp Ann)

d Cấu trúc với HAPPEN TO

Dùng để nhấn mạnh tình cờ hội việc IF + S + happen to + V, clasue

6 e Cấu trúc với IF IT WERE NOT FOR/ IF IT HADN’T BEEN FOR

Dùng để miêu tả việc phụ thuộc vào việc If + it + were not for / hadn’t been for + Noun, clause VD:

If it were not for Jim, this company would be in a mess

If it hadn’t been for the goalkeeper, Vietnam would have lost ( Nếu ko có thủ môn, Việt Nam đã thua rồi)

****Một số cách dùng khác a Supposing, otherwise

Supposing/ Suppose thay mệnh đề IF ( cấu điều kiện) văn nói VD:

Supposing you won the football match, what would you do? ( Nếu bạn thắng trận đá bóng, bạn làm gì?)

Otherwise nghĩa ” khơng” Nó đứng đầu câu hay cuối câu VD:

If you hadn’t given us the directions, we wouldn’t have found the house

=> Thanks for your directions to the house We wouldn’t have found it otherwise ( Cảm dẫn bạn Chúng khơng tìm nhà khơng có nó) b Cấu trúc BUT FOR

Nó thay cho cấu trúc ” IF …….NOT” Dạng thường sử dụng văn phong lịch

BUT FOR + Noun VD:

If you hadn’t helped us, we would have benn in trouble => But for your help, we would have been in trouble c Cấu trúc: If + adjective
