the strongly development of market economy and international integration trend, is facing many opportunities as well as challenges Especially, Vietnam’s integration into World Trade Organization (WTO) has created many chances to exchange and cooperate with many international friends This has been giving Vietnam a fast economic growth speed with many leading-edge industries such as: electronics industry, chemical industry, tourism, etc In the field of tourism, Vietnam has planned and deployed many projects in order to strengthen tourism industry Lots of companies and organizations of tourism considered as representative, bridge, picture to the international friends With such an importance, tourism section always needs their staffs to have good foreign language I have been trained to be a tour guides I have known many beautiful sight-seeings in Nghe An as well as in other regions in Vietnam I know that any tour guides must equip themselves with a good cultural background and at least a foreign language to deal with arising situations in tour itinerary If you have a good communication in a foreign language but no other knowledge of cultural history, or know much about history of our country but not well at foreign language you would have difficulties in communicating with tourists and attracting them Thirdly, tour guide's job really requires strictly Standing in front of tourists, you have to be a culture, a historian, a diplomat, and a clever marketing business Image the work of a tour guide as an ambassador, introducing good images, traditional cultures and beauty longer Its strict will be a challenge for you to pass over Nevertheless, tour guide seems to be a more attractive job than all other ones with better incomes With the new things after each tour, happy stories with tourists, sharing the same sense of culture, history , tour guides feel their knowledge more, their adaptability better, more mature Difficulties and challenges could not obstruct you to Practice report Last but not least, in this time I can apply my theory into practice This is an opportunity for me to show my ability I had many chances to communicate with the tourists and foreigners because I was assigned to directly guide tour I learn how to pronounce well and exactly Therefore I can improve my English speaking skills a lot Now I am confident when contacting with the foreigners who use English In short, we can see that practicing at a tourist company is good for every student It brings us a lot of interesting things and benefits Problems Apart from advantages that I got from for being trained about tourism at university was limited, my knowledge could not satisfy all the requirements of tour guide job There are a lot of standards to become a good tour guide However, it is not easy to cover all of it in a short time The lecturer of foreign language department mainly train professional interpreters and translators and can not cover all things about tourism So when I practice at any company, I did not have enough expertise to take over that work That requires me to spend some time learn the work Secondly, the practice time is not long enough for me to learn all professional work assigned at the company I could only study and practice the main work I took any chances to practice my theory; however, there seems to be too little time Truong Son Tourist Company practice process Lastly, when I directly guide tours I got some problems in the journey such as: getting lost, having a bad weather, catching cold, etc Because that is the first time to get into trouble in practical situation, I was quite worried at first, but then I timely solved the problems However, after time of practicing at the company, I know that difficulties help would grow up more some suggestions for Department of Foreign Languages in order to help its students to better in the future First of all, I suppose that the Foreign Language Department should supplement some more specialized subjects in curriculum so that students can choose to study with their favorite such as: banking, accounting, commercial finance … To so, the department should train the lecturers following the different specialized subjects Additionally, Vinh University in general and Department of Foreign Languages in particular should create the best conditions for all the students to learn time of studying Since this is an important foundation for their practice process and future jobs Furthermore, the university should contact with the companies for students to practice at the companies regularly because it is not easy for all students to contact with the appropriate companies In addition, helping students to work part time at the companies is also necessary One more thing the department should is that they should link with companies to organize programs in order to find young talents to work for the university or for companies in the future I think this is an practice should be prolonged more in order that students have enough time to practice better; either the time of practice should be divided into many phases In short, the role of university, department and lecturers in students’ practice process is really important They provide the foundation knowledge and conditions for students to practice They should become the bridge between students interesting and useful period for each student Through it we learn a lot of things from other people as well as from daily life From theory we ourselves put the knowledge we have studied into practice In the practice process, with meeting a lot of people and doing a lot of work, we can improve our knowledge and grow up more as well After the time of practicing I find that “the first step is the hardest”; however, if we equip ourselves with necessary knowledge and be confident enough we can pass over them Furthermore, from those difficulties we have more experiences for our future job as well as for other work in our life In general, we must try to study well and equip the background knowledge to practice better Besides, we should look for help from other people if we need In the Truong
