LESSON 1: Part 1, 2, 3 I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Nn and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Nn words - Write the letter Nn

- Vocabulary: nut, net, nest - Sight words: look

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work - Some techniques can be used: music chairs

- T review and let’s Ss to read aloud the letter from A to M - Ss read aloud and T monitors and corect their mistake 3 New lesson (30’)

Teacher- Students’activies Content

* Activitiy 1: Listen, point and repeat Colour (8’)

- T introduction of letter N, Its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Nn - T use a card with letter Nn or write on the board the letter Nn to introduce to the students the new lesson

- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Nn /en/ The letter N makes the /n/ sound - Ss listen and repeat

1 Listen, point, repeat Colour. a Vocab

- T ask Ss to repeat several times, check Ss’s pronunciation (letter Nn /en/ and its sound - Ss work in group

- Ss work individually

- Ss look the cards and repeat

- T use gestures (hand actions) to help Ss to understand the meanings of the three words - Ss check the meaning and repeat

- T check Ss’s understanding T says the words, all Ss actions and vice versa

- T call some Ss to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes

- Ss remember the cards

*Activity: Memory game (5’)

- T put the phonics cards of Nut, Net, Nest, Nn on the board

- T ask Ss to memorise the order of these cards

- T ask Ss to close their eyes, remove one phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to name it

- Continue changing the other cards - Ss close their eyes and name the card in order

- T remember to correct student’s pronunciation throughout the lesson Activity Listen and point Colour (8’) - T ask Ss to look at the books and listen to the words Look! A nut , Look! A net, Look! A nest - Ss read aloud

- T use gestures (hand actions ) to help Ss to understanding the meaning of command

- T ask Ss to repeat by using the phonics cards of Look! A nut , Look! A net, Look! A nest combining with gestures

- Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to colour the nut , net, nest using any colour they like

- T goes round the classroom ,asking Ss to name the items they are coloring

- Ss colouring

- T monitors and correct their mistake *Activitiy: Pass the phonic card (4’)

- T using the phonic cards of Nn, nut, net, nest and line up the Ss into teams

Play Game

- T give the first Ss of each team a phonics card and say “go.”

- Ss work in groups

- Ss say the coresponding words and pass the phonics card over their head to the Ss behind them

- Next, those Ss repeat the words and pass the phonics card between their legs to the Ss behind them

- Continue to pass the phonic card over their head and between their legs to the last Ss - The last Ss in each team give the card to teacher and say the word correctly They will get one point

- Which team has the most point will be winner Continue the game as many times as necessary

Activity Chant and show (5’)

- T put up the lyris of the chant on the board - Without music, use the phonics card and step Ss to sing the chant with Nut Do the same with net and nest

- Ss listen and chant

- With music, the whole class sing the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for eacg word

- T give feedback

- T ask Ss to write the chant in to note book - Ss write the chant in their notebook

- T ask Ss to excersise in the work book - Ss excersise in the work book

3 Chant and show

LESSON 2: Part 4, 5 I Objective:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practise the sound of the letter Nn and the coresponding words

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song Vocabulary: review.

- T ask Ss to point letter /en/ in the word ant and point to the picture of nut Do the same with net and nest

- Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to listen the story and point to the picture of key words when they hear them in the story

- Ss work in pairs, one read and one check - Correct their mistakes

- T ask Ss point to the sight word - Ss point to sight word

- T ask Ss listen and repeat and read aloud - Ss listen and repeat and read aloud Activity Song (10’)

- Put up the nut, net, nest phonics card on board

4 Listen Read along.

- Ask ss to point the nut and say a nut is in a n, n, net.

- Ss listen and sing

- T the same with the rest of the song - Ss remember the cards

- T play the CD Ask Ss to listen and sing - Ask Ss to take out the nut, net, nest picture cards and put them on the desk

- Ss close the eyes and take away a card

- Play the CD and ask Ss listen and hold up the corresponding card

- Say the card missing

*Activity: Which one is missing (8’)

- Put the card up on the table and give ss a minute to look at them and ask ss close their eyes and take away a card

- Ss open their eyes and name the card missing

V Summary (1’)

- T asks whole class to sing the song at home
