UNIT 1: LESSON : Aa (P1) I.Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Aa and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Aa words - Write the letter Aa

2 Warm up (5’)

- T review and let’s Ss to read aloud the letter A - Ss read aloud

- T monitors and corect their mistake New lesson ( 30’ )

Teacher– Students’ activies Content

1 Listen , point and repeat Colour.10’ -Introduction of letter A , Its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Aa - Use a card with letter Aa or write on the board the letter Aa to introduce to the students the new lesson

- Ask students how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Aa /ei / The letter A says / a/ -Repeat several times and check student’s pronunciation(letter Aa /ei / and its sound / / -Use gestures (hand actions ) to help

students to understand the meanings of the three words

-Check student’s understanding T says the words,all ss actions and vice versa -Call some ss to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes

2 Practice 10’

*Activity1 : Memory game

- Put the phonics cards of ant , apple,

alligator , Aa on the board

- Ak ss to memorise the order of these cards - Ask ss to close their eyes ,remove one phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to name it

- Continue changing the other cards - Remember to correct student’s pronunciation throughout the lesson *Activity 2: Where the letter 3’

- Ask ss to work in groups T hangs out the photographs about the storry and ask ss to circle the letter

- T give the time

- T corrects and praise the winner 3 Production:1’

- Show the letter Aa again , and ask ss to write the Aa in air with their fingers

- Ask ss to write down the words ant, apple, alligator into their notebook

1 Listen and point Colour 8’

- Ask ss to look at the books and listen to the words An ant , an apple, an alligator -Use gestures ( hand actions ) to help ss to understanding the meaning of command -Ask ss to repeat by using the phonics cards of ant, apple ,alligator combining with gestures

- Ask ss to colour the ant, the apple ,the alligator using any colour they like

- T goes round the classroom ,asking ss to name the items they are coloring

*Activitiy :Pass the phonic card 5’ - Using the phonic cards of Aa, ant ,alligator,apple and line up the ss into teams

-Give the first ss of each team a phonics card and say “go “

- Ss say the coresponding words and pass the phonics card over their head to the ss behind them

- Next, those ss repeat the words and pass the phonics card between their legs to the ss behind them

- Continue to pass the phonic card over their head and between their legs to the last ss

- The last ss in each team give the card to teacher and say the word correctly They will get one point

- Which team has the most point wiil be winner Continue the game as many times as necessary

2 Chant and show: 10’

-Put up the lyris of the chant on the board - Without music , use the phonics card and step ss to sing the chant with ant Do the same with apple and alligator

- With music ,the whole class sing the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for eacg word

- Give feedback 3 Production: 5’

-Ask ss to write the chant in to note book -Ask ss to excersise in the work book
