Giáo án: Anh Văn 9  Trường THCS Thông Hòa Lesson 3: Listen – Language Focus 1. * Aim: To listen for specific information and further practice on the Present Perfect with FOR or SINCE. * Objective: By the end of the lesson, Students will be able to listen for specific information, describe what people are wearing and know how use the present perfect. * Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures. PRE – LISTENING: 1. pre – teach Voc: an announcement: thông báo a missing: người thất lạc an entrance: lối vào a fair: hội chợ a doll: búp bê * Checking memory: Slap the board. 2. Set the scene: - What are these? What is this? What color is this? What color are these?. - Now, we will hear an announcement about a lost little girl called Mary. III. WHILE –LISTENING: 1. Listen and answer the questions: a. How old is she? (she is three) b. Where was she last seen? (She was last seen near the main entrance to the Car Fair) c. What ’ s she like? (She has short dark hair). 2. Listen and check ():  Answer: a) B: She ’ s wearing blue shorts. b) A: She ’ s wearing a long – sleeved white blouse. c) C: She ’ s wearing brown shoes. IV: POST - LISTENING: T asks Ss to close book and notebook. T divides the class into 2 groups. Translation Situation Translation Explanation Realia. T asks Ss to look at the pictures on p. 16 and answer the questions about each them. T asks Ss to listen and answer the questions. T gives Ss listen to the tape again and check the letter of the correct picture to show what Mary is wearing. - Give feedback - Close book and notebook. - Work in groups. - Listen and repeat - Copy down - Individual work. - Individual work. - Whole class. Form: The present perfect: - Since + a point of time (mốc thời gian) - For + a period of time (khoảng thời gian) Use: - Diễn tả hành động đã bắt đầu ở quá khứ, vẫn còn tiếp diễn ở hiện tại và liên quan đến tương lai. - Diễn tả hành động vừa mới xảy ra. b. Practice: P.20 V. HOMEWORK: - Learn by heart the new words.Write in your notebook what you have described to your friends about one of your friends and conversations b) & c). - Prepare for: Read T asks Ss to describe what Mary is wearing. T asks Ss to read the dialogue on P19. T elicits Ss to give the form and usage. - T corrects T asks Ss to use the information in the table on P. 20 to make similar dialogues. Then practice with their partner. T goes round the class, taking notes in order to help correct Ss ’ s pronunciation, intonation, past participle of irregular verbs. - Individual work. - Work in pairs. - Work in groups/ in pairs. - Individual - Copy down - Work in pairs. - Do at home.
