In educational institutions, computer-related technologies have had a profound influence on the way teachers instruct and students learn. For example, graphics programs, CD-roms, sound bites, digital photography, and chat facilities are some of the technologies that may forever change the process of learning. As governments continue to invest in these technologies , students may become more autonomous, creative and independent in the way they learn. It is most likely that teachers will no longer be seen as the main sourse of knowledge. Rather, learners will be able to take a more active role in acquiring knowledge. The application of technology to education is already very apparent. In the future its impact will be felt even more strongly. As this technology is integrated into curriculum from kindergarten to university, learning will take on a more exciting and challenging role.
