the connection of the network adopted shielded twisted pair wire is illustrated in Fig.7-9 Computer or comm server CAN EDCS-81501 CANH CANH 13 EDCS-81502 CANL CANH 14 13 EDCS-81503 CANL CANH 14 13 CANL 14 CANL R G00 G00 G00 G00 FIG 7-9 CAN communication connection chart In order to improve communication quality, the following suggestions for users reference: 1) Recommend: 500k (distance≤90m), 250k (distance≤180m), 125k (distance≤300m), 50k (distance≤800m), 20k (distance≤2000m) 2) Communication lines must be connected fast and reliably The communication in whole system will be affected if the connection of communication lines is bad, disconnected, shorted-circuit or the configuration of communication parameters is not right 3) Only one resistor of 120 Ω is permitted to connect with the device side of the bus in a whole CAN network of system Because communication bus and matching resistor makes a loop, it effectively prevent the self-excited oscillation on the bus to influence the communication 4) The shield ground G00 of the communication network should be connected with the shield ground of computer 5) Wiring in Fig.7-9 is an example used PCL-841CAN bus communication cards The CAN signal is transmitted by the short frame that the valid bytes count to 8, with the result that the transmitting time is short, interfered probability is low The function of automatic close will cut off the contact of the node with bus when the node communication is severity mistake so that the communication and other nodes on the bus are not uninfluenced So the anti-interference ability is very strong The CAN bus can work in peer-to-peer, any node can send information at any time to all others on bus, it can structure many host systems 7.2.2 THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK VIA RS-485 1B EDCS-8000 series device can use RS-485 to compose communication network that the protocol is IEC-60870-5-103 The transmitting medium of RS-485 is shielded twisted pair wire, and the communication distance can reach to 1200 meters, being a lot of the devices link up to a RS-485 bus or the baud rate is higher, the distance will accordingly shorten The EDCS-8000 series generally be slave in the system, the master could be a PC or a communication management device etc 98 NEW CENTURY RELAYS EDCS-8150 Station transformer protection & monitoring device instructionmanual If the master is not provided with RS-485 port but only the RS-232, the RS-232/485 convertor would be used (a kind of equipment used for transforming the interface level between RS-232 and RS-485) In fact, RS-485 net may be various topology structures, take the RS-422/485 communication car (PCL-745) for example The line form connection, which is connecting the devices of EDCS-8000 series to the communication network one after another from the place of master to the end, is suitable for the situation that the devices are fixed concentration and there is expanding demand in future In figure 7-10, Rt is an anti-reflective resistor which resistance must match for the cable impedance Generally be 120Ω Computer or comm server EDCS-81501 485 A A B EDCS-81502 B A 0 G00 G00 EDCS-81503 B A B G00 R G00 FIG 7-10 RS-485 communication connection chart To improve the quality of communication, the following suggestions for users reference: 1) Quality of shielded twisted pair is very important, and it is recommended the shielded twisted pair with AWG22 (0.25mm2) diameter, which two wires with different colors 2) Communication lines must be connected fast and reliably The communication in whole system will be affected if the connection of communication lines is bad, disconnected, shorted-circuit or the configuration of communication parameters is not right 3) Pay more attention to the single point grounding of the screen; the so-called single-point grounding means that on the screen of one communication line one and only one point is earthed Grounding at both ends will bring the ground loop current, resulting in inducing noise interference on the communication cable 4) On one communication line, the RS-485 ports must be the A (+) connected to A (+), B (-) to B (-), not be reverse 5) Communication lines should be away from the sources of electromagnetic interference, such as strong electricity lines, as far as possible 99 NEW CENTURY RELAYS 7.2.3 EDCS-8150 Station transformer cables must be connected imprisonment, reliable, joint bad, disconnected, short-circuit or shorted, and communications parameters set incorrectly happen can affect normal communication of the whole system 3) The color of two crystal connection is not more than one, but it can get the best effect if using the figure color 100 NEW CENTURY RELAYS EDCS-8150 Station transformer protection &
