Once you are comfortable choosing products, however, the process will become much quicker for you. This Lesson Covers: Three-Step Process Patience Is the Key Searching for Products Three-Step Process Building your primary product list is a three-step process: Find your primary products Find two competing products for each of your primary products Narrow your list down to the three best opportunities Copyright © 2017 Amazing Selling Machine www.getwsodo.com www.getwsodo.com 2. Patience Is the Key Remember that choosing a viable product is time-consuming and sometimes frustrating. It may take multiple attempts to build your list, but this is normal. Stick with the process—the more you do it, the easier and more successful it becomes. 3. Searching for Products The following search process is the same whether you are in the US, the UK, or Germany. Make sure that the following have been completed before you begin your search: Your list of BSR ranges and your list of products to avoid are open and easy to view. Your Product Opportunity spreadsheet is open and easy to access. The DSM Amazon Quick View Extended app is installed and running in your browser. You are NOT logged in to either your personal or Seller Central Amazon accounts. Remember that Amazon does not display your search items in any particular order. Plan to spend a fair amount of time on your search, and always remember that your patience will pay off! Then, take the following steps to start finding your primary product: Go to www.amazon.com. Copyright © 2017 Amazing Selling Machine www.getwsodo.com www.getwsodo.com Enter an open square bracket followed by a closed square bracket ( [] ) into the search bar: Click “All” to the left of the search bar, and select the category you are interested in from the drop-down menu. Then, click the magnifying glass to search. (Note: if these categories are not available in the search bar, click “See All 36 Departments” in the left sidebar, then click on the category you are interested in). Scroll down and enter “$18.99” as your minimum and “$70.00” as your maximum range, in the left sidebar under Price. Then, click “Go.” Start scrolling down through the products, looking for BSR rankings within the recommended ranges. Hover your cursor over the image of a product that does fall within the recommended BSR rankings, to get more information. Check the size and the weight, to make sure they are within the ASM recommended ranges. Click on the product, if it meets all of the ASM requirements for a potential product opportunity. Enter the following product information into your Product Opportunity spreadsheet (Note: You will not be able to fill in all of this information right now—you will learn how to find competing products, keywords, and profit margin in upcoming lessons): a Product URL b Keywords c Category d Price e BSR f URL 2 (the URL of the first competing product) g BSR 2 (the BSR of the first competing product) Copyright © 2017 Amazing Selling Machine www.getwsodo.com www.getwsodo.com h URL 3 (the URL of the second competing product) i BSR 3 (the URL of the second competing product) j Reviews k Reviews 2 (# of reviews for the first competing product) l Reviews 3 (# of reviews for the second competing product) m Profit Margin Right now, your spreadsheet will start to look like this: 10 Repeat this process until you have listed 15 to 20 product opportunities. Now that you have your list of 20 products, move on to the next lesson, where you will find competing products to add to your Product Opportunity spreadsheet. Copyright © 2017 Amazing Selling Machine
