I Trật tự của tính từ đứng trước danh từ

Chúng ta có thể dùng hai hay nhiều tính từ đứng trước một danh từ để bổ nghĩa cho danh

từ đó

Ex: She bought two beautiful wooden picture frames

(Cô ấy đã mua hai khung hình bằng gỗ rất đẹp.)

 Tại sao ta lại có viết là “beautiful wooden” mà không phải là “wooden beautiful”?

Đó là dựa vào bảng trật tự tính từ sau: (tính từ được sắp xếp theo thứ tự trong bảng (từ trên xuống dưới))

II So sánh tính từ và trạng từ

1 So sánh bằng

=

Ex : Tom is as old as Mary = Tom is the same age as Mary.

 Note: Cấu trúc khi nói gấp bao nhiêu lần:

S1 + V + twice/ three times/ four times + as + adj/adv + as + S2

 Khi S1 là đặc điểm nào đó của một vật( người) này thì S2 tương ứng cũng phải là

đặc điểm tương ứng với S1 của một vật ( người) kia

Ex: “bun cha” in Ha Noi is twice as delicious as that in Sai gon

2 So sánh hơn: dùng so sánh hai đối tượng với nhau

Ex:

-This book is thicker than that one

(Cuốn sách này dày hơn cuốn sách kia.)

( + ) S + V + as + adj/adv + as + N/ pronoun/ clause

( - ) S + V + not + as + adj/adv + as + N/ pronoun/

clause

S + V + the same + ( N ) + as + noun/pronoun

S + V + short adj/adv+er + than + noun/pronoun/clause

more + long adj/adv

(Anh ấy thông minh hơn tôi.)

 Note: Các từ “ a lot, a bit, a little, rather, slightly, much, far” có thể được them vào đứng trước dạng từ so sánh để nhấn mạnh them cho câu

Ex: I got up a little later than usual

( Tôi thức dậy trễ hơn thường ngày một chút.)

III So sánh hơn nhất: dùng để so sánh từ ba đối tượng trở lên

Ex:

-It is the darkest time in my life

(Đó là khoảng thời gian tăm tối nhất trong cuộc đời tôi.)

-She is the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met

(Cô ấy là cô gái xinh nhất mà tôi từng gặp.)

 Note: Hình thức so sánh của động từ bất qui tắc:

S + V + the + short adj/adv+est + than + noun/pronoun/clause

most + long adj/adv

( Càng lớn tuổi tôi càng thấy hạnh phúc.)

2 So sánh lũy tiến
