Summer Institute Every summer The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, in coordination with the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict brings together 45 mid-career executives for The Fletcher Summer Institute for the Advanced Study on Nonviolent Conflict, an intensive week-long course on the theory and practice of civil resistance Fletcher-Specific Campaign Information Fletcher’s Transformational Campaign • Campaign driven by academic needs and institutional priorities • Coordinated effort to engage the Fletcher community and strengthen philanthropic partnerships with YOU • Comprehensive campaign: Annual Fund and Capital Gifts, including bequests, will count towards Fletcher’s overall goal • Fletcher goal of $100 million – 82.4% achieved to date as of June 30, 2010 Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy The Austin B Fletcher Society • The Austin B Fletcher Society recognizes those who have provided for Fletcher in their estate plans Examples of Planned Gifts • Naming Fletcher as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy • A gift that provides the donor and their loved ones with income and ultimately distributes to The Fletcher School (a charitable gift annuity or a charitable trust) • A bequest to The Fletcher School in a will or trust Fletcher’s Transformational Campaign • Many of these gifts can be counted towards Fletcher’s prospective students • Major update to news and content management platform arrives in early 2011 Fletcher Advertising: A New Voice for Greater Impact • Introduced in late 2008, Fletcher’s latest advertising campaign uses creative messaging to highlight unique community, brand strengths and success stories • Campaign will have design update in late 2010, with additional messaging • Online, print, local and merchandise advertising Managing Media: Social Networks and Public Relations • Coverage in international media outlets has increased 60% since 2007; First-tier outlets include Associated Press, Reuters, CNN, Boston Globe, NPR, BBC, US News & World Report, The Economist • Frequent social media participation has allowed for redistribution of news coverage, announcements and
